Cobra Labs The Ripper Review

The Ripper is without question one of the most distinctive fat burners on the market today. Cobra Labs really got the branding right here; anybody who sees this fat burner once will probably remember it for a long time and they instantly know it is a supplement to increase metabolism. The skull on the tub leaps right out at you off the shelf, and the name is definitely different to most other fat burners out there right now; we can’t count how many “T5″s we’ve seen! If nothing else, Cobra Labs have been inventive with their branding!

But what does The Ripper actually do?

How is it supposed to help you shred body fat during a cut?

Cobra Labs The Ripper review

According to the Cobra Labs website, The Ripper delivers a handful of key benefits that make it useful for anybody trying to cut fat and preserve muscle. These are:

  • Lasting energy
  • Appetite control
  • Enhanced fat loss
  • Rapid action

These are the core benefits we look for in a fat burner. If a product can help us stay energized during a diet, keep us from over-eating, and help fire-up our workouts, then it is a winner for us.

The fact that it is designed to work quickly is a major bonus; we like fat burners which can be used as a pre-workout as well as an all-day support supplement.

As the Cobra Labs site says: “This great tasting, full strength formula mixes in seconds and goes to work within minutes of the very first dose.”

You’d think it would be easy to find a product that can deliver these simple benefits. But it isn’t.

Every fat burner out there claims to do these things. Yet only a dozen or so actually do.

Well, does The Ripper deliver? Or is it another case of “all bark and no bite”?

Is it safe? What kind of side effects will it cause?

How does it compare to the likes of Instant Knockout?

Find out by reading our full Cobra Labs The Ripper review below. We’re going to tear the formula apart and see if it is really as good as the manufacturer claims. We’ll tell you what kind of side effects you can expect. Ultimately, we’ll tell you whether or not this fat burner is worth the price tag. Got any questions? Want to share your experiences? Post in the comments section at the end!

The Ripper Formula

Here is the ingredients list as it appears on the bottle:

The Ripper ingredients

That is NOT what we wanted to see AT ALL.

Proprietary blends (where we aren’t given individual ingredient serving sizes) are MAJOR RED FLAGS for us.

As we see it, there’s no reason whatsoever to use a proprietary blend unless you want to hide tiny serving sizes from customers. After all, none of the best-selling fat burners today use prop blends. If they can do it and make buckets of money, so can everyone.

We never recommend using a supplement that hides its formula behind a proprietary blend.

But there are specific problems with The Ripper’s prop blend that make it particularly bad.

The larger of the blends contains a couple of ingredients that have 0 fat burning potential. Or to put that another way, they don’t work. The science is clear on this. The blend does contain other ingredients that do accelerate fat loss, but we have no idea how much we get per serving.

The smaller of the blends is far too small. There is no way that the best ingredients in that blend can all be dosed how they need to be to work properly. We don’t even think there’s enough for one of the ingredients to be dosed properly.

Overall, a poor formula. We expected more from such a popular fat burner, especially since it’s made by such a seemingly reputable brand.

Big Problem – Dud Ingredients In Proprietary Blend

You should never settle for a proprietary blend when there are so many fat burners out there with clear, transparent, open formulas. There’s just no need to take the risk.

We think prop blends are always an sign of a rip-off formula. When a manufacturer has a great formula to offer, they tend to use it as a major selling point. So why hide, right?

But The Ripper’s prop blends are particularly bad.

The main reason for this is that they contain ineffective, unproven ingredients.

For example, the larger of the two blends contains Raspberry Ketones

We recommend that you read our article on raspberry ketones if you have the time. To cut a long story short, we think they’re a total scam. There’s no conclusive evidence showing that they aid fat loss in humans. The reason they’re found in so many supplements – in our opinion – is because they’re cheap, readily available, and they have the word “ketone” in their name.

Raspberry ketones have nothing to do with human ketone bodies. Nothing.

“Ketone” refers to the structure of a molecule. The make-up of that molecule can be anything at all; so long as it is in a particular arrangement, it is a “ketone”.

Raspberry ketones are the molecules which give the berries their pleasant smell.

We’ve never seen a robust clinical trial showing that raspberry ketone supplementation leads to greater fat loss in humans. Until we do, we’re going to just go ahead and assume that they’re totally bogus.

Raspberry ketones don't burn fat

Another good example of a bogus ingredient is Olive Leaf Extract.

You’ll find this stuff in plenty of supplements – not just fat burners either. You’ll find Olive Leaf Extract in pretty much any kind of natural supplement you can think of. We think this happens because people think of olives as being vaguely “healthy”.

One study found that Olive Leaf Extract supplementation might help with the treatment of obesity by down-regulating certain genes related to metabolic disorders. However, we don’t think this means that OLE is a proven fat burner. Far from it.

This study did not show that OLE supplementation led to decreased body fat n human subjects.

It did not show a robust correlation between OLE supplementation and decreased body fat levels.

All it did was identify a substance found in olives and suggest that it might help mitigate a genetic predisposition to obesity.

To us, this is not a suitable ingredient in a hardcore bodybuilding supplement.

Olive leaf extract doesn't burn fat

To make this worse, we don’t know how much of the formula is made up of these ineffective, unproven ingredients.

For all you know, you’re paying top dollar for a supplement that is mostly just Raspberry ketones and Olive leaf extract – ingredients that have not been shown to help with fat loss in humans. For us, that is completely unacceptable.

We don’t see why anybody would choose such a supplement over products that contain only proven, reliable fat burners, and with doses stated on the bottle!

The Ripper Side Effects – Is It Safe?

There are a couple of things that you need to be aware of before you start using The Ripper fat burner.

For starters, you should know that proprietary blends always make things uncertain. And when we’re trying to judge how dangerous a supplement is, uncertainty is definitely a bad thing.

If we don’t know the doses of the individual ingredients, then we cant figure out how dangerous a product is; simple as that. That is part of the reason why we NEVER recommend a product that doesn’t show the individual ingredient servings on the bottle.

Now that that warning is out of the way, let’s look at some specific side effect risks in The Ripper.

Caffeine side effects

The main side effect concern is the caffeine.

Each serving of this fat burner contains 200mg of caffeine. We assume that is total caffeine content; it is listed separately to “Guarana Extract”, which usually means caffeine (but with some useless plant matter thrown in as a bonus – caffeine is caffeine). But we think this is just to make it clear how much caffeine each serving provides, which we appreciate!

Consuming 200mg of caffeine in a single serving is going to cause side effects in the vast majority of people.

Your average espresso from a coffee shop contains about 60-70mg of caffeine. So 200mg is like consuming 3-4 espressos at once.

We don’t care how much coffee you drink – that’s A LOT of caffeine.

Some fat burners split their daily serving up into 2-4 equal parts. This allows you to spread your caffeine intake out evenly throughout the day. This not only mitigates side effects, but also keeps you nice and energized in work and in the gym despite being low on calories.

The Ripper doesn’t allow for this; one serving is one serving.

The likely side effects of consuming 200mg of caffeine in a single dose include, but are not limited to:

  • Jitters
  • Sweating
  • Dizziness
  • Hypertension
  • Rapid heart beat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Lack of focus
  • Energy crashes

It’s OK to take a little more caffeine right before you workout. But taking 200mg in a single dose – at any time of day – is probably a bad idea.

Using caffeine like this over many months will cause more serious problems – dependency, insomnia, and elevated risk of heart disease to name a few.

WARNING

Please read this side effects section carefully before you buy.

You need to be very aware that WE ARE NOT DOCTORS and this is not medical advice. All we’re doing here is drawing on our own experience and research to point out the most obvious and serious side effect risks. The risks obviously vary person to person.

You therefore need to talk to your doctor before you use this product, or any fat burner for that matter.

NOTE: These supplements are not obesity cures. They’re serious bodybuilding supplements. They are not for unfit or inexperienced people.

The Ripper Review Summary – Not Worth The Price Tag

In our opinion, Cobra Labs The Ripper is not really worth the price tag.

Our main problem is the use of proprietary blends. There are dozens of fat burners out there that show their individual ingredient serving sizes on the bottle. The manufacturers boast about their formulas; the generous servings of top fat burners is their main selling point! These supplements make millions of dollars a year.

We therefore don’t see any reason for anybody to spend money on an unknown quantity. Transparency and certainty have value – no doubt about that.

The ingredients found in The Ripper’s prop blends make this problem even worse. For all we know, most of the formula could be bogus ingredients. You could quite easily be paying top dollar for a lot of raspberry ketones and olive leaf extract and not much else. Not ideal!

The small size of one of the blends means that the best ingredients – green coffee bean extract for example – are highly unlikely to be dosed properly.

Overall, this is not a very good fat burner. Cobra Labs could have done much better here. We really don’t understand why this product is so popular.

If you want good value for money, better side effect control and ultimately better results, check out any of our top rated fat burners.

Full Dr. Emil MaxBurn Review

Dr. Emil supplements have burst onto the supplements scene. The brand only emerged a short while ago, but the range already looks quite extensive, and it is clearly doing good sales volume through Amazon. However, we’re always extremely skeptical of brands based around the personality of supposed “doctors”. Many shady companies have tried to use quacks to make their products seem more reliable, trustworthy, and potent. They usually turn out to be bogus doctors peddling bogus supplements.

Is MaxBurn one of these rip-offs?

Is it an effective fat burner?

Dr. Emil MaxBurn review

The bottle describes MaxBurn as delivering “fat burner and appetite control”. If we look at the Dr. Emil website, we get a little more detail about what users can expect from this supplement:

  • Increased “clean” energy
  • Increased fat loss
  • Better muscle retention
  • Optimal results without side effects

The website makes a big deal out of Dr. Emil’s pedigree. But when we look at his background, we see that he only completed the first stage of a medical degree in the UK. So while he is licensed to practice medicine, he isn’t an MD, a qualified pharmacologist, or a qualified sports nutritionist. He does claim to have a degree in Sports & Exercise Science, but that doesn’t make someone an expert or qualified to give advice.

The website actually states some things that appear to be outright lies. It says “when he’s not saving lives in the ER”, which can’t possibly be true because he doesn’t appear to be resident at any hospital.

In our opinion, Dr. Emil’s pedigree counts for nothing.

Even if he was the most qualified, experienced sports nutritionist in the world, it still wouldn’t mean anything; you can be an industry leader and still make a terrible rip-off of a supplement!

What matters is the composition of the product itself; the ingredients, the doses, and the health risks.

Does the Dr. Emil MaxBurn formula live up to its promises?

Is this fat burner safe? What are the likely side effects?

Is there a better option for maximizing results during your next cut?

Find out by reading our full MaxBurn review below. We examine the formula in much greater detail before moving on to discuss the side effect risks. We’ll also evaluate the supplement’s value for money. Have you tried MaxBurn already? What did you think? Let us know in the comments section at the end!

MaxBurn Ingredients

Check out the MaxBurn ingredients list as it appears on the label:

MaxBurn ingredients list

That is NOT a good formula for a fat burner.

Not at all!

For all the stuff Dr. Emil has said about this supplement – “doctor-driven, science backed” – we really expected a lot more than this.

The Dr. Emil Nutrition website makes the following claim about the quality of its MaxBurn: “Bringing Dr. Emil’s unique knowledge as both a scientist & medical doctor (he’s also a professional athlete!), our blends are painstakingly formulated to provide superior results and are always backed by science”.

We don’t see that here at all.

Instead, we see totally bogus ingredients.

We see over-hyped, under-performing substances.

Worst of all, we see a cheap, generic proprietary blend.

In short, we see a very poor quality fat burner. Like many metabolism boosting supplements, this strikes us as a likely rip-off. We think it is highly unlikely that people are going to get very good results using MaxBurn. We think it is extremely unlikely that it will end up being worth the price tag.

Let’s go through these points in a little more detail.

Bogus Ingredients – SERIOUS ISSUE!

In our eyes the biggest problem with MaxBurn is the heavy reliance on ingredients that are either over-hyped, unproven, or outright duds!

For example, the ingredient with the largest serving size in MaxBurn is Raspberry Ketones

We have explained several times over why we don’t have much faith in this supposedly incredible fat burner. As you’ll learn if you read our in-depth article, raspberry ketones are an out and out scam. They have never been shown to aid with fat loss in any way. There isn’t a single clinical study out there showing that people lose more fat while supplementing with raspberry ketones.

The reason they are found in so many supplements is two fold. First, they are cheap to buy in enormous quantities. Secondly, the word ketone – although it has nothing to do with human ketone bodies – means that they are easy to sell to confused but health conscious consumers.

We challenge anybody to show us a single robust clinical trial in which raspberry ketones did anything to help people lose fat, retain muscle, or perform better in the gym.

Raspberry ketones are bogus fat burners

The second largest ingredient in MaxBurn – African Mango – is not much better than raspberry ketones in terms of effectiveness or reliability.

Many people claim that African Mango extract is a powerful appetite suppressant.

There is indeed some evidence for this. This study, for example, found that an African Mango extract was able to induce modest weight loss in middle aged men. The researchers noted: “Irvingia gabonensis induced a decrease in weight of 2.91 ± 1.48% (p < 0.0001) after two weeks and 5.6 ± 2.7% (p < 0,0001) after one month. Although the percentage of body fat was not significantly reduced with both placebo and IG, the waist circumference and hip circumference were significantly reduced by IG.”

However, this is probably the most promising study on African Mango’s effect on fat loss to date, and even here the results were meager: “body fat was not significantly reduced”.

As it stands, there are few other studies showing that African Mango aids with fat loss.

There are far better alternatives out there for controlling appetite, preventing over-eating, and even controlling blood sugar. Glucomannan, for example, has been extensively studied; far more so than African Mango. It has proven to be a powerful appetite control agent. It is more conducive to bodybuilding than stimulants, and it seems to help with blood sugar control much better than African Mango.

We expect fat burners to use the best possible ingredients. MaxBurn hasn’t done so.

-Ab Training Explained-

Proprietary Blends Are A Rip-Off!

This one doesn’t really need much explaining.

Proprietary blends aren’t used by any of the biggest supplement brands today. They don’t need to use them. They know that nobody ‘steals’ other formulas; just because you know what’s in, say, Shred JYM, doesn’t mean you can recreate it yourself. There’s nothing secret about fat burner formulas, so again, there’s nothing to steal.

Instead, the major manufacturers use their formulas – individual ingredient doses and all – as major selling points. They want you to know how generous their servings are, so they put them on the bottle.

So, what are we to make of a supplement that doesn’t?

What should we think about a supplement that chooses to hide the serving sizes for a particular group of ingredients?

We can’t tell you what to think, but we know we’re DAMN suspicious of this sort of thing!

This is certainly true when the proprietary blend in question contains ingredients that could easily be used to ‘bulk out’ the formula.

For all we know, 90% of the MaxBurn proprietary blend could be made up of kelp, which is extremely cheap to buy and completely useless for enhancing fat loss.

It could be 90% grape seed extract – same story there.

We never use proprietary blends, and if you care at all about transparency or value for money, neither should you.

MaxBurn Side Effects – Is It Safe?

Proprietary blends are always problematic when it comes to health and safety. Side effects are always intimately linked to dosage. If we don’t know dosage, it’s difficult for us to accurately gauge the probability or severity of side effects, long-term health risks, and so on.

This problem becomes more serious when the proprietary blend contains potentially dangerous stimulants like caffeine anhydrous

There could be as much as 399mg in the MaxBurn formula. There could just as easily be 3mg, but the fact that we don’t know either way means we really need to consider the worst case scenario.

399mg of caffeine anhydrous is a lot to consume in a single serving.

Products like Instant Knockout contain the same amounts, but it is supposed to be divided up into a few equal servings taken throughout the day (potentially with some two concentrated before training).

There is no such dosing protocol with MaxBurn.

Consuming more than 200mg of caffeine (about the same as 3 espressos) in a single shot is going to cause at least some side effects. It doesn’t matter who you are or what your tolerance levels are like. It’s going to have some negative physiological and psychological effects.

Common side effect include:

  • Jitters
  • Anxiety
  • Hypertension
  • Elevated heart beat
  • Sweating
  • Dizziness
  • Difficulty focusing
  • Irritability

Long term effects can be even more serious – dependency, insomnia, and an elevated risk of heart attacks.

We really need to know exactly how much caffeine a product contains before we start using it.

Going into it blind is just too risky for us. It doesn’t allow us to properly control our total daily caffeine intake. If we knew for certain that there was 200mg per serving, we could plan our other caffeine intake accordingly. If we know that it contained 3mg, we could still use our caffeine-loaded pre-workout, for example.

But we don’t. That is a major problem!

Beware

We are not doctors.

This isn’t medical advice.

We don’t know you or your medical history. You need to talk to your regular doctor before using any fat burners.

These products are not cures for obesity. They are designed for serious athletes who know what they’re doing. They work when combined with a disciplined diet and exercise protocol. If you experience any side effects, please discontinue use and seek medical attention asap.

MaxBurn Review Summary – Is It Any Good?

This is a low quality fat burner.

The main ingredient is a complete rip-off. Raspberry ketones don’t do a damn thing for fat loss; they just sound like they will. Raspberry ketones have nothing to do with human ketone bodies. Nothing.

The next biggest ingredient is substandard. It is under-studied, and the results turned up by clinical trials have always been pretty disappointing. It would be better if Dr. Emil had used glucomannan.

Then we have the prop blend. This kind of speaks for itself. Dud ingredients, an unknown dose of caffeine anhydrous; this is just a non-starter for us!

Overall, Dr. Emil MaxBurn is a poor fat loss aid. If you want to maximize results during your next cutting phase, and you want to do so safely, then check out some of our top rated products.

Full Slimvance Review

Slimvance is an extremely popular bodybuilding supplement right now. A natural fat burner made by BODYDYNAMIX, this stuff is really getting a lot of attention online!

BODYDYNAMIX isn’t a big supplement brand at all; we can’t actually find an independent website for these guys. It seems that they sell exclusively through GNC and Amazon. They also only have a couple of products on offer; Slimvance Core Slimming Complex, Slimvance Thermogenic, and a Garcinia Cambogia supplement. We’re going to focus on the more popular Core Slimming Complex in this review.

So, what’s all the fuss about?

What is this product supposed to do? Why should anybody care?

BODYDYNAMIX Slimvance box

As you can see from the box, BODYDYNAMIX are happy to make some very bold claims about this product; claims that strike us as highly unlikely. According to them, Slimvance delivers “6 x more weight loss” and a “3 x hip and waist reduction”.

You don’t need to be a medical expert to realize why these claims are ridiculous, if not impossible. No supplement is going to be able to increase the amount of weight you lose by a factor of 6 – no pill can magically make you lose 6 pounds of fat for every 1 you would have lost without it.

The promise of “3 x hip and waist reduction” does’t even make sense – Will your waist shrink to a third of its size? Will your hips decrease by a third? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!

These claims aren’t even desirable, let alone realistic.

We’re not interested in losing weight. We’re interested in losing fat. That’s the purpose of a fat burner; to help you preferentially lose fat over muscle mass.

But this fat burner does claim to enhance fat loss. It also isn’t the first time we’ve seen a manufacturer going a little overboard with its promises. So we’re going to cut it some slack and let the formula do the talking.

Does Slimvance really work as advertised?

Is it safe? What are the side effect risks like?

Is there a better choice out there for you and your goals?

In our detailed Slimvance review below, we answer all of these questions in as much detail as possible. We’ll discuss the ingredients, doses, and what the scientific literature has to say about the formula as a whole. We will also lay out side effect risks and value for money. If you have any questions, please post them in the comments section at the end.

Slimvance Formula

Let’s take a closer look at the Slimvance formula:

Ingredients list

Wow. What a joke!

That is an absolutely terrible formula. There’s so much wrong with this that we barely know where to start.

First of all, there’s the “patented blend”. Don’t be fooled by manufacturers who try to make out like they’ve got some kind of secret sauce that they need to patent and guard from competitors. Proprietary blends are total scams done to hide the truth from potential customers – that truth being the formula is garbage! People don’t steal formulas, especially when they look like this!

Then we have the fact that BODYDYNAMIX have used unnecessarily exotic names for commonplace herbs. Murraya koenigii is the Curry Tree, and Curcuma Longa is better known as Turmeric. Nice try though guys!

The real problem, however, is the simple fact that THESE INGREDIENTS DO NOTHING FOR FAT LOSS!

There are no fat burners in this supplement – none that have been proven to work by science at least.

Proprietary blends are bad enough, but it’s rare that we see one composed of just 3 ingredients, all of which are total duds.

What a total waste of money this supplement is. We don’t know what BODYDYNAMIX are expecting here; there’s no way that this product is going to be able to compete with the top fat burners on the market today. It isn’t even in the same league – after all, it’s not got any fat burners in the formula!

Let’s go through this in more detail.

Main Weakness – Ingredients Don’t Burn Fat

If we just looked at the formula, we wouldn’t think this was a fat burner. The only reason it’s being reviewed here is because it calls itself a fat burner. There is nothing about this formula which makes us think “fat loss”, “athletic performance”, “recovery”, or anything else that might be of use to someone planning a cut.

It might sound ridiculous, but the main problem with Slimvance is that it doesn’t contain any ingredients known to aid with fat loss.

Turmeric is used in more and more supplements these days. It’s extremely trendy these days to talk about turmeric like it’s a panacea – a magical cure-all. Health blogs produce thousands of words on this common spice every single week. The claims range from the scientifically-valid to the fanciful: some say it can reduce inflammation, some claim it might prevent cancer.

It seems as though turmeric does indeed support good overall health. Recent studies, such as this one, have found that turmeric does have multiple different health benefits (reduced inflammation, reduced muscle soreness, better bowel function, etc). However, the authors noted that you need to consume piperine with turmeric for it to be sufficiently bio-available.

But turmeric does not have any proven fat burning properties.

It does not contribute in any way to faster fat loss, more muscle preservation, or better athletic performance.

Turmeric powder

The same is true for both of the other ingredients in Slimvance.

There’s no evidence that curry tree leaf extracts promote fat loss.

Moringa oleifera has never been shown to accelerate fat loss, increase energy levels, or suppress appetite. There is absolutely no reason to believe that it can do anything to help you do better during your next cutting phase.

We have no idea why either of these ingredients are here.

The fact that they are both cheap to buy in large amounts, seemingly safe to consume and readily available might have something to do with it, but that’s just speculation.

What we don’t need to speculate about is the fact that there are lots of things missing from Slimvance.

The fact that the formula is exclusively composed of dud, ineffective ingredients means that it is missing all of the things that we normally look for in a fat burner!

There’s no appetite suppressant.

There’s no energy kick.

There’s nothing to stimulate fat cell metabolism.

There’s nothing to enhance insulin action.

Basically, there’s none of the things that usually combine to form a fat burner.

-Does Cardio Eat Muscle Mass?-

Side Effects – Is Slimvance Safe?

The thing we’ve been trying to make clear in this review is that Slimvance is made up of useless herbs. There’s only three ingredients, and we can’t find a shred of evidence that any of them do anything at all.

However, the fact that it seems useless in terms of enhancing fat loss doesn’t mean it is safe. The fact that we don’t know how any of the ingredients are dosed means that it is inherently riskier to use Slimvance than other, comparable supplements.

Turmeric is widely taken as a general health supplement. It’s heavily used in food, usually in far larger amounts than you’ll find in this stack. We don’t think it’s going to cause any problems for the vast majority of you – unless you have an allergy that is.

Curry leaf is also widely used in cooking, mostly in India. If you regularly eat Indian food, then you already consume this stuff on a regular basis. Again, we don’t think this stuff is going to cause many of you any side effects whatsoever. Those of you with serious allergies to curry leaf (which we’ve never heard of) will have trouble. Maybe the only real risk is digestive discomfort from eating too much of the stuff.

Side effect risks

It is a different matter with Moringa Oleifera. To our knowledge this stuff has not been thoroughly tested for human consumption. There have been a few studies carried out, all looking at very specific benefits. However, as this paper notes, more needs to be done to establish whether it is safe or not. No robust studies have been done looking at a large sample size and with a specific focus on safety.

All in all, we think side effects are unlikely for most users, but we still think the side effect risks are disproportionate to the potential benefits. It’s not really worth the risk of getting side effects from the Moringa Oleifera when we don’t stand to benefit from using it!

Caution

We are not doctors.

This is not medical advice.

You MUST do your own research and talk to a doctor before using any supplements discussed on this site. These supplements are not a quick fix for being overweight; they are serious supplements for dedicated athletes who know what they’re doing. They need to be used in conjunction with good diet and exercise practices.

How Much Does Slimvance Cost?

Slimvance currently sells on GNC for a whopping $59.99.

That’s $60 for a product that is probably just 400mg of Turmeric mixed with two other dud ingredients.

As far as we can tell, there’s no multi-buy discounts, and no money back guarantee.

Slimvance therefore offers significantly worse value for money than pretty much every other fat burner on the market. The likes of Instant Knockout and BurnerTEK sell for about the same price, yet they contain lots of scientifically-proven fat burners in good amounts, and they offer multi-buy discounts.

Don’t waste your money on this garbage! We expect supplement manufacturers to be transparent with us about their formulas. We’re not paying anyone $59.99 if they wont tell us how the ingredients are dosed!

Slimvance Review Summary – Is It Worth A Try?

In our opinion this isn’t really a fat burner – the only thing that makes it so is the fact that it claims to be one on the bottle.

The formula contains just three ingredients.

Two of them, Curcuma longa and Murraya koenigii are more commonly known as turmeric and curry tree leaf. They are classic ingredients in Indian food, not potent fat burners.

The other ingredient – Moringa Oleifera – has not properly been tested for safety or efficacy in humans.

So basically, you have 3 ingredients, and not one fat burner.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, BODYDYNAMIX have lumped these useless ingredients together into one homoegenous proprietary blend. We therefoe don’t know how any of them are dosed. But since there’s no real need for anyone to use prop blends, we think it’s highly likely this has been done to hide the fact that Slimvance is mostly just turmeric powder.

If you’re looking for better results from your next cut, whether that’s help beating hunger or some extra energy in the gym, there are much better supplements out there than BODYDYNAMIX Slimvance.

Full Thermo-XY Review

Thermo-XY is a natural fat burning supplement from DNA Lean. These guys have a few specialist bodybuilding supplements to their name. They currently have a creatine powder, a “female” fat burner – supposedly designed specifically for women – and Thermo-XY. They aren’t a well known brand at all, and it isn’t obvious that they want to be. They seem to sell their products exclusively on Amazon, and that doesn’t look likely to change.

So what is Thermo-XY supposed to do?

How is it going to help you lose more fat during your next cut?

DNA Lean Thermo-XY bottle

According to the bottle, this supplement delivers better “weight management for men. It’s not clear what makes any fat burner specifically beneficial for men. Unless you’re going to try to manipulate hormone levels, a fat burner is going to work equally well for both men and women.

But we can forgive some brands for using the same marketing techniques that everybody else uses!

If you look at the Amazon merchant page, you’ll see that this stack claims to deliver the following core benefits:

  • Increased energy without crashes
  • Enhanced fat oxidation
  • Increased cAMP activation
  • Faster weight loss

That’s a solid range of benefits for a natural fat burner to aim for.

Some of you might be unsure what “cAMP activation” refers to. cAMP stands for Cyclic adenosine monophosphate. This is a derivative of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which as many of you know is the “energy currency” of your cells. Having good ATP recycling is a great way to ensure optimal performance in the gym – especially when you’re performing intense, heavy, explosive lifts.

All of this sounds great anyway. Sustained energy and better fat mobilization – that’s what we want from a fat burner at the end of the day. Better athletic performance through ATP cycling support is an added bonus.

But does Thermo-XY wactually do any of this?

Is it safe for you to use long-term? What are the short-term side effects going to be?

How does it compare to the best fat burners on the market today?

Find out by reading our full review of DNA Lean’s fat burner below. We take a closer look at the formula and see what the science has to say about the ingredients. We’ll talk about the price tag, as well as the health risks. Have you used this stuff before? What did you think? Let us know in the comments!

Thermo-XY Formula

Let’s check out the formula and see what it really has to offer:

Formula analysis

We’re not impressed with this!

There are a lot of problems with this formula.

The main issue is that some of the ingredients don’t contribute to greater fat loss. They are over-hyped, ineffective, and unproven. This is a real problem, because it means you’re paying good money for substances that don’t get you any closer to your goals.

Worse still, some of these ingredients come with serious side effect risks.

It’s also quite a confused formula.

This is another stack that is trying to be too many things at once. In doing so, DNA Lean have spread themselves too thin. Instead of trying to be a fat burner, a pre-workout, and a cognitive enhancer, it would be much better off focusing on helping you lose fat!

That said, there’s a lot about this product that we like. Using it will definitely help you lose fat quicker and more easily. But the side effect risks, the dead weight, and the lack of focus really makes it not worth it for us.

Let’s get into this in greater detail.

What We Like

There’s a few things that we really like about this product, all things considered.

For example, each serving gives us 200mg of Green Coffee Bean Extract (GCBE).

This is one of the best natural fat burners in existence. The fat burning properties of GCBE are down to a compound called chlorogenic acid.

For one thing, chlorogenic acid has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity. At this paper notes, “Administering an oral daily dose of this supplement in the last 3 weeks of feeding reversed diet-induced body weight gain and insulin resistance, assessed by hyperglycemia, glucose intolerance and insulin intolerance.”

These findings were supported by the results of this study. Researchers here stated: “Our study provides direct evidence in support of CGA as a potent compound in preventing diet-induced obesity and obesity-related metabolic syndrome.”

Fresh coffee beans

The 200mg we get from Thermo-XY is a pretty decent dose.

As you’ll see if you look through some of the studies conducted on GCBE, you don’t need much to get the benefits. Many people use as little as 100mg of high quality extract per day and see serious improvements in their physique. We think 200mg is more than enough for anybody, regardless of your size or body type. Chlorogenic acid isn’t a macro-nutrient – you don’t need to take tons of the stuff just because you’re a big guy!

There’s a lot of hype and misinformation about this stuff online at the moment. But when you cut through the noise, you find that it has some robust fat burning power.

-Learn More About Green Coffee Bean Extract-

What We Don’t Like

We are happy with the healthy GCBE serving. There are other good ingredients in DNA Lean Thermo-XY too. But they are not enough to outweigh the many flaws we see in this formula.

Overall, this isn’t a very good fat burner. It doesn’t give you much bang for your buck, and there are some side effect concerns to think about.

The main problem is the fact that it uses ineffective, unproven, over-hyped ingredients.

The worst offender here is Meadowsweet

We have no idea what this stuff is doing in a supposedly hardcore bodybuilding supplement.

It doesn’t have any properties that make it useful to us. It doesn’t increase fat oxidation, it doesn’t mobilize fat from your fat cells, and it doesn’t improve athletic performance. Meadowsweet isn’t known for appetite suppression or as a recovery aid.

We’ve looked pretty hard, and we can’t see any reason to add meadowsweet to a fat burner.

Most articles we’ve found online talk about its potential use as an anti-inflammatory – the popular go-to for health freaks when they can’t find a use for some shrub or plant. Everything is an anti-inflammatory these days!

There’s certainly no hint that it is commonly used as a fat loss aid.

In buying Thermo-XY, you’re paying for 50mg of a substance that does pretty much NOTHING. That mightn’t sound like a lot of dead weight to be paying for, but this isn’t the only dud ingredient, and it should be 0mg!

Meadowsweet

We also think DNA Lean have made a mistake with the inclusion of the cognitive enhancing complex here.

Thermo-XY is not a pre-workout, and it is not a cognitive enhancer. It is a fat burner. Yet it doesn’t really do that job particularly well.

There aren’t many potent, reliable and thoroughly proven fat burners in this formula. The GCBE and the Cayenne pepper are really the only ingredients that will make a meaningful difference to your progress. There’s nothing to control appetite, nothing to help with nutrient partitioning, and no caffeine!

With all these absences, DNA Lean should not be dedicating so much formula space to ingredients that we don’t necessarily want!

If we buy a fat burner, we want a product that will help us BURN FAT FASTER.

The ingredients in this stack dedicated to improving focus and drive are absolutely effective; they’re just in the wrong supplement. That isn’t to say these ingredients have no place in a fat burner. If a stack is designed for use pre-workout and it has covered all the bases we expect from a fat burner, then that’s great.

We’re just saying that in this stack – with just 2-3 potent fat burners – they’re really not needed. We need more fat loss aids!

Thermo-XY Side Effects – Is It Safe?

The reason many people opt for natural fat burners over synthetic drugs or anabolic compounds is the fact that they are enormously safer and less damaging to long-term health. That’s why we get so disappointed when fat burners use substances that cause side effects, or which pose significant long-term health risks.

It isn’t like we have a shortage of natural fat burners that don’t cause side effects!

Sadly, we think some users are going to experience some side effects while using Thermo-XY. That’s because of the Synephrine content, listed here as “Bitter Orange”.

Synephrine is a commonly used fat burner these days. It is thought to have a similar effect to Ephedrine in the body, because the two molecules look similar when you draw them as skeletal formulas:

Synephrine ephedrine comparison

Ephedrine is a potent medication used to treat things like asthma, although it is also a powerful stimulant and fat burner. The logic is, it looks like ephedrine, so synephrine must also be a potent fat burner.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that structurally similar tells you absolutely nothing about the effect a compound has in the body.

Just because two things look alike when you draw them as skeletal formulas doesn’t mean they act the same way.

However, if we choose to accept the logic that synephrine behaves like ephedrine, we run into some SERIOUS  problems. Ephedrine is not a substance you want to be playing with. It is an immesnely powerful stimulant, and it comes with serious side effects if used without medical supervision.

Potential side effects of synephrine use include:

  • Headaches
  • Tremors
  • Dizziness
  • Nervousness/anxiety
  • Sweating
  • Nausea
  • Stomach cramps
  • Sudden drowsiness

To make things worse, we are yet to see conclusive evidence that synephrine stimulates fat loss in a menaingful way. So you’re taking on all these risks for no added benefit.

It must be said that Thermo-XY only contains whole bitter orange powder. As such, the synephrine dose will be minimal. But it is still something to consider!

Warning!

This is by no means an exhaustive look at all potential side effects and health risks. All we are doing is highlighting the main dangers as we see them (according to our experience and research). This isn’t medical advice. To stay safe, you need to:

  1. Do your own research
  2. Talk to a doctor

These supplements aren’t a cure for obesity. They are meant for serious athletes who know what they’re doing!

DNA Lean Thermo-XY Review Summary – Is It Right For You?

In our opinion, most people would be better off using a more potent and well formulated fat burner. There are just too many serious issues with the Thermo-XY formula for us to recommend it to anybody.

For one thing, it doesn’t provide very good value for money. There are a bunch of bogus ingredients in here that you’re paying for when you really shouldn’t be!

For another, it doesn’t contain many effective fat burners. We get plenty of green coffee bean extract and enough Cayenne pepper for people to see results. But that’s it.

There’s no appetite control.

No nutrient partitioning support.

No caffeine for added energy.

Instead we get ineffective, unproven substances and one that is known to cause side effects.

If you want optimal results, you have to invest in a top quality product. Check out some of our top rated fat burners and you’ll see the difference between Thermo-XY and the best products on the market right now.

Full Metabolism Viper Review

Metabolism Viper is a specialist fat burning supplement from King Cobra Nutrition. We struggled to find an independent website for these guys. They’re listed by most of the major supplement wholesalers – at least in the UK where the product is produced. So while we can’t find a standalone merchant site, it’s clearly a legit supplement. These guys also make a testosterone booster and a pre-workout. It’s highly likely they’re going to expand their range in the future as their existing products are proving quite popular.

So let’s get on with it!

What is this fat burner supposed to do? Who is it for exactly?

King Cobra Metabolism Viper bottle

You can tell by the look of the bottle that this is positioned as a hardcore bodybuilding supplement; if you read this review of Instant Knockout fat burner, you’ll see that both supplements make similar claims. There are several warning signs on the label telling us how dangerously potent the product is; not a bad thing, so long as the doses are within reason!

We can’t find any specific promises about what this stack can do. The only thing we can find is a repeated reference to “normal macronutrient metabolism”. In fact, they claim that this is one of the best metabolism boosting supplements on the market. That is indeed important if you want to maximize fat loss and minimize muscle loss. But we expect a little more from a quality fat burner today.

However, it might be that King Cobra Nutrition just wants to let the formula speak for itself.

We would prefer to know exactly what a supplement is supposed to do before we buy it, but we respect this approach.

It’s clear, after all, that the main purpose of Metabolism Viper is to promote fat loss.

So, the only thing that’s left for us to answer is – does it really work?

Is King Corba Metabolism Viper an effective fat burner?

Is it safe? What are the side effects going to be like?

Is it as good as some of the best fat burners on the market today? Are there better options for the same price?

We’ll answer these questions and more in our detailed Metabolism Viper review below. Check it out and find out what this fat burner really has to offer. We start with a thorough examination of the formula before moving on to side effects and value for money. If you’ve tried this tack yourself, please let us know what you thought in the comments section at the end!

Metabolism Viper Formula

Let’s take a look at the formula and see if it really helps you burn fat faster:

Ingredients

That’s a good quality, potent formula. By the looks of this King Cobra Metabolism Viper will be more than capable of helping you get better results from your next cutting phase.

There are some great ingredients in here, and the doses are super generous. We rarely see that much green tea powder or that much green coffee extract in the same fat burner! There’s actually much more than we need or can realistically get results out of, but that’s better than having too little.

There’s also a good serving of chromium. Not enough fat burners use this stuff, so it’s great to see a nice big serving.

All in all, this stack will help improve energy levels, keep you motivated and fired up in the gym, and accelerate fat loss for pretty much everybody.

Let’s go through some of the key points about the formula in more detail.

What We Like

  • Good dose of caffeine
  • Very generous doses of green coffee bean and green tea
  • Plenty of chromium

There’s a ton of things we like about this fat loss aid.

The main selling point – as far as we’re concerned – is the massive doses of green coffee bean and green tea power.

King Cobra Metabolism Viper provides an enormous 12,000mg of Green Tea powder per daily serving (3 capsules). That is WAY more than even the best fat burners on the market today.

The green tea here has been standardized to provide a whopping 270mg of EGCG. This catechin is an incredibly potent fat burner. Unlike many of the ingredients typically used in bodybuilding supplements, EGCG seems to actively and directly accelerate fat loss.

This study found that EGCG increased fat oxidation in men. It did this independently of exercise or diet restriction; that is, EGCG seems to speed up fat cell metabolism all by itself!

This in-depth meta-analysis is well worth looking at if you’re interested in utilizing green tea extract to burn more fat. The authors note the following: “Overall, there are more studies that demonstrate positive effects on resting fat metabolism when GTE is ingested, both shorter term and longer term. There is less supporting evidence for the use of GTE during exercise. The interaction between GTE and exercise training is interesting and animal studies are generally supportive of additive or interactive effects of GTE on an exercise training program.”

The 270mg of EGCG we get from Metabolism Viper is far larger than the doses we get from the likes of BurnerTEK or Instant Knockout

Having such a huge dose of EGCG in a natural fat burning supplement is a major selling point.

Green tea extract is a potent fat burner

We also get plenty of caffeine from this supplement.

Caffeine can be your best friend during a cut, so long as you know how to use it properly. Supplementing with purified caffeine is one of the most effective and reliable ways to keep your energy levels up despite being in a caloric deficit.

Using caffeine before a workout reduces the perception of fatigue, allowing you to blast through your sessions without having to take on any extra calories.

If you work full time, or your training schedule is particularly intense, then combating fatigue and sleepiness is probably a major issue. Slacking in the gym because you’re tired after a 10 hour shift will seriously impair your gains over time.

Caffeine can therefore make a big difference to your physique and your strength levels over time!

Metabolism Viper gives us 225mg of caffeine per day. That would be a big dose to take in a single hit. But the total daily serving is 3 capsules, which means you can break up this caffeine dose throughout your day. This is a much better way of supplementing with caffeine – instead of a single hit that causes side effects, you get a nice, steady, sustainable energy boost that lasts all day!

We’ll talk more about caffeine in the side effects section. It is, however, a definite strong point in this supplement. Caffeine can be used, and it can be abused. If you break up the 3 capsule serving throughout your day, most people will only benefit from the 225mg we get from this fat burner.

-How To Do Ab Training The Right Way-

What We Don’t Like

  • No appetite control
  • No thermogenics
  • No BioPerine to aid with metabolism!

On the whole, we think this is a good fat burner. Whether you’re a serious bodybuilder, a competitive fighter, or just someone looking to get extra shredded this summer – there are much worse supplements out there for you than Metabolism Viper.

However, it isn’t without its problems.

There are several ways in which it could be significantly improved.

The main problem is the fact that it lacks anything to help with appetite! This is a MAJOR flaw, especially for people like us who find training easy but diet control very difficult.

Most people are in the same position – the hardest thing about getting shredded isn’t the training; it’s not binge eating!

Most good quality fat burners provide some kind of appetite control support.

Our preferred method is to use glucomannan. This root contains an enormous amount of water soluble fiber. Glucomannan powder forms a thick paste in the stomach, making you feel really full even when you haven’t eaten much (or anything at all). This helps stop binge eating and snacking; the downfall of many a bodybuilder.

It doesn’t artificially suppress your appetite like stimulants do. This is why we advise against using diet pills if you care at all about health and athletic performance – losing your appetite altogether isn’t good. If you want to be fit and healthy, you need to eat!

Sadly, aside from caffeine there isn’t anything in Metabolism Viper to help make you feel fuller and more satisfied after a small meal. Appetite control is a standard component of a modern fat burner. The absence of one here is a real disappointment.

No chili powder

Another notable absence is any kind of thermogenic. King Cobra hasn’t included anything in this supplement to elevate body heat.

Most good quality fat burners today will provide some kind of thermogenic.

The most commonly used one is chili powder.

You all intuitively know how this works to promote fat loss. Remember the last time you ate a burrito or curry that was a little too spicy? What happened? You started to feel really hot. You probably started to sweat if it was hot enough.

Well, consuming chili powder through supplements has the same effect – it makes your body think it is getting too hot, which triggers a temperature control response. Your body starts trying to control its temperature, opening up your blood vessels and producing sweat.

This temperature control response costs calories. A lot of them. Consuming things like chili powder raises your resting metabolic rate (baseline caloric expenditure), putting you into a deeper caloric deficit than you would otherwise be in.

The end result – faster fat loss.

Well, we don’t get anything like that from this stack.

This is another fat burner staple that King Cobra has left out of Metabolism Viper. So disappointing from an otherwise great fat loss aid!

Side Effects – Is Metabolism Viper Safe?

How safe a supplement is for you depends entirely on your own circumstances – medical history, diet, activity level, allergies; the list goes on.

But we can identify the most obvious risk factors for the average user.

There are some side effect risk factors in this fat burner that you really need to consider before you go ahead and use it.

The main one is, of course, the caffeine

Caffeine is an incredibly powerful stimulant. In large doses, it can be fatal. Chronic consumption of large amounts of caffeine can have serious adverse health effects: insomnia, heart disease, anxiety, etc.

225mg might not sound like a lot to most of you, but it is. It’s a lot to consume across an entire day, and it’s definitely a lot to be consuming in a single dose.

Common side effects will include:

  • Headaches
  • Nausea
  • Jitters
  • Sweating
  • Dizziness
  • Light headedness
  • Shortness of breath
  • Elevated heart rate
  • Anxiety
  • Hypertension

You need to calculate your baseline caffeine intake as it stands before you even consider adding in more through supplements. Consuming more than about 400mg daily is a bad idea for the vast majority of people. To put that in context, that’s about 5 small, single-shot Americanos.

Make sure you check any other supplements you’re using for caffeine before you accidentally overdose! Ideally, we’d like you to talk to your doctor before you go ahead and start supplementing with caffeine at any dose. As we said, it’s a powerful drug, and overdose can be fatal!

We aren’t doctors, and this isn’t medical advice. All we’re doing here is pointing out the most obvious risk factors for the average user, determined by our research and personal experiences. You MUST talk to a doctor before using any fat burners and make sure you do your own research thoroughly.

Metabolism Viper Review Summary – Is It Right For You?

Is this a good quality fat burner? Yes, absolutely.

Will it help you achieve success with your next cut? Definitely. It will help keep your energy levels up both in work and at the gym, and it will actively accelerate fat oxidation.

Is it the best fat burner on the market right now? No, afraid not.

It’s missing too many key components to be a market leader. There’s no thermogenic component, and there’s nothing to help with appetite. Those are kind of non-negotiable for us! We’re big eaters, and we like feeling the burn of a thermogenic in the gym.

If you want to give this stack a whirl, then we see no reason why you shouldn’t. Just be sure to split your daily dose up sensibly and take the caffeine seriously.

If you want optimal results, there are better supplements on the market right now!

Full GNC Burn 60 Review

This brand doesn’t need much of an introduction. GNC is one of the biggest supplement retail companies in the world. They have stores all over the world, and they are the ‘go-to’ supplement outlet for many bodybuilders, athletes, boxers, and health-conscious people. Building on their success as a re-seller, GNC began offering their own supplements a few years back. They now have lower priced, generic versions of every bodybuilding supplements you can think of; whey protein, creatine, multivitamins, and fat loss aids.

So what is GNC Burn 60 supposed to do?

Why would anyone consider using it?

GNC Burn 60 bottle

Burn 60 is part of GNC’s Total Lean range. They have lots of different mini-ranges of their own products which they sell in most of their stores. The idea seems to be to offer slightly lower priced alternatives, with simple branding and uniform quality. It’s obviously working because their own-brand products are some of the most popular on the market!

According to the bottle, this fat burner provides the following key benefits:

  • Powerful thermogenisis
  • Increase calorie burning by “up to 60%”
  • Boost energy and metabolism

Increase calorie burning….by 60%?!

That’s right; your eyes are not deceiving you. GNC are seriously claiming that this fat burner can increase the number of calories you burn per day by 60%. Now, that statement comes with the usual caveats. We’re sure they’re legally in the clear. But that is still an incredible claim to make.

We doubt any substance – even pharma-grade anabolics – can instantly increase caloric expenditure by 60%.

If your maintenance level of calories is 2300, for example, then according to GNC this fat burner can instantly put that up to 3680. All by itself.

Does that sound right to you?

We’re skeptical.

But to properly judge this popular fat burner we need to take a closer look at the formula and see what’s really going on under the hood.

Does the Burn 60 formula deliver? Can it really work as advertised?

What are the side effect risks? Is it safe?

How does it compare to the best caffeine-free fat burners on the market right now? Is there a better option?

Find out by reading our full GNC Total Lean Burn 60 review below. We discuss the ingredients, doses, and side effects in great detail. We’ll talk about what other people have been saying about Burn 60 too. At the end, we’ll tell you what we think of the product as a whole. Have you tried this product before? What did you think? Let us know in the comments!

Burn 60 Formula

Let’s look under the hood and see what’s really going on here. This is the Burn 60 ingredients list as it appears on the GNC website:

Ingredients label

What a disappointment!

That is not our idea of a top quality fat burner.

Right away we see a ton of problems: use of Guarana instead of caffeine; use of poor, ineffective ingredients; and an absence of many proven, top quality fat burners.

Overall, we really don’t see a lot to get excited about here. This looks like a poor quality fat burner. We don’t think you’re going to get particularly noticeable results from Burn 60. It’s definitely unlikely that you’ll get the same kind of results as you would from better, more focused, potent supplements.

Let’s get into it in a little more detail.

Major Problem – Why Guarana, Not Caffeine?

We’re sick of hearing people talk about guarana as though it provides some kind of magical caffeine that is different from regular caffeine.

It doesn’t.

Caffeine is caffeine. It doesn’t matter where you get it from. The molecular structure is the same, and it has the same effects int he human body.

Guarana seeds contain more caffeine than coffee beans on a gram for gram basis. But unless you’re eating the seeds, that doesn’t matter at all.

Guarana fruit

The caffeine you get from guarana is the same as you get from coffee beans. And caffeine is the only reason we want to be consuming guarana. Apart from the caffeine, guarana is just a lot of useless plant matter.

So we really dislike the fact that Burn 60 has included 495mg of Guarana, of which just 180mg is caffeine.

That means 64% of that ingredient, or a full 315mg, is plant matter which is of no benefit to you whatsoever.

We would have much rather GNC just provide caffeine – the thing that helps us train harder during a cut – and cut right back on the plant material. We know the larger serving size looks good, and Guarana sounds a little more exciting than caffeine, but we don’t care about marketing or fluff. We want results and nothing else!

Major Problem – Useless Ingredients

Another big issue with the GNC Burn 60 formula is the heavy use of dud ingredients.

There really aren’t many ingredients in Burn 60. As such, GNC really needed to be careful with their choices. They needed to make every single substance count.

But they failed. There is more than one ingredient in this fat burner that really has no chance of helping you lose body fat.

Take Grape Seed Extract for example.

This ingredient is used in lots of fat burners nowadays. It’s always been a popular ingredient in health supplements. But we don’t know why – it doesn’t actually do anything!

We have never seen a convincing scientific study showing that grape seed extract helps with fat loss in any way.

Grape skin extract

You wont find any clinical trials in which people given grape seed extract gained more strength, or had more energy, or lost more body fat than placebo. Not unless an effective fat burner was used at the same time! Some studies have supposedly found that it accelerates fat loss, but only when combined with exercise, and even then, results are not convincing.

Yet GNC have decided to include 210mg of the stuff in Burn 60. It is one of the key ingredients. Yet as far as the scientific literature is concerned, it’s worthless.

This is a lot of dead weight for you to be paying for. On top of the 315mg of useless Guarana fruit, that’s over 500mg of useless formula you’re taking. 500mg of dead weight you’re spending money on.

That’s not what we expect from today’s premium fat burners.

Ginger root

We also notice that GNC have chosen to use Ginger Root in this fat burner.

Again, we don’t really know why.

Ginger Root is related to many fibrous foods and tubers that can help reduce feelings of hunger and prevent over-eating/binge eating. Things like glucomannan have been shown to significantly improve satiety after a meal, reduce snacking, and so on without artificially lowering appetite.

But ginger root doesn’t have quite the same properties as these related plants.

It does have a range of health-promoting properties, from supposedly lowering blood pressure to helping with digestion.

But we want accelerated fat loss here, and ginger doesn’t help us achieve that in a meaningful way. It doesn’t significantly help with appetite control or make you feel fuller after a meal. It’s just more dead weight as far as we’re concerned.

If GNC wanted to include an appetite suppressant, there are plenty of effective, potent, although admittedly expensive alternatives they could have used!

GNC Burn 60 Side Effects – Is It Safe?

There’s only really one side effect concern with this fat burner and it’s the caffeine content

Now, many people get caffeine and guarana confused. We touched on this above, but we’ll run through it again here real quick.

Guarana is not some special kind of caffeine. Guarana seeds contain caffeine. They contain more caffeine than coffee beans on a gram for gram basis, but the caffeine they contain is the same thing. It hits the body in exactly the same way.

So the size of the Guarana serving is irrelevant. All we care about is the caffeine content; the rest is useless plant matter. Manufacturers only include Guarana because it sounds exotic and the serving size is necessarily bigger than straight caffeine. But all this does is make it harder to discuss side effects.

Thankfully, GNC have provided the exact caffeine content of their Guarana: 180mg.

180mg of caffeine is not a ridiculous dose, but it is a lot to consume in a single sitting. It is about the same as 2 strong espressos. That may not sound like a lot, but it is enough to cause side effects in most people (we don’t care how high your tolerance is).

Common side effects from caffeine consumption include:

  • Hypertension
  • Anxiety
  • Sweating
  • Jitters
  • Dizziness
  • Heart arrhythmia
  • Elevated heart rate
  • Energy crashes
  • Insomnia
  • Loss of concentration

We strongly recommend splitting up your caffeine supplementation into equal doses taken throughout the day. This helps prevent acute overdoses and serious side effects. However, doing this does mean that you will be consuming caffeine later int he day, which can adversely affect sleep.

Consuming caffeine supplements long-term can also cause chronic side effects, such as hypertension or insomnia.

It is vital that you consider your existing baseline caffeine intake before you add in any more through supplements. 180mg might not seem like much, but on top of your morning coffee, your pre-workout and three cups of black tea, it can have a big impact!

Caffeine overdose can actually be fatal: you have bee warned.

WARNING

We aren’t doctors and this isn’t medical advice.

Do your own research and talk to a qualified health professional before you use any fat burners whatsoever.

The supplements discussed on this site are designed for serious athletes. They are not a quick fix for obesity, and they are not for inexperienced users in poor health. If you’re struggling with your weight, talk to your doctor. Don’t take the claims of manufacturers at face value. Always check multiple sources and let the available science be your guide!

GNC Burn 60 Review Summary – Does It Work?

In our opinion, this is a pretty terrible fat burner.

We know that GNC have quite a few fat loss aids on sale, so we weren’t expecting this to be a market-leader or anything. But we were definitely expecting better than this!

The Total Lean Burn 60 formula contains ingredients that do absolutely nothing to enhance fat loss.

Altogether, there is over 500mg of dead weight in this formula. 500mg of material that you’re paying for and getting absolutely diddly squat out of!

Most of the gurana is just useless plant matter.

Grape extracts don’t reliably improve body composition or athletic performance.

Ginger root isn’t as good of an appetite suppressant as glucomannan, and it isn’t as good of a blood sugar controller as chromium.

All in all, this fat burner is pretty damn bad. If you want to see accelerated fat loss, reduced food cravings, and ultimately better results, look elsewhere. If you are concerned about bang for your buck, check out our top rated fat burners today!

Full Shred Her MAX Review

Most of you reading this will already be familiar with NLA For Her. This is one of the most popular bodybuilding supplement brands on the market. They have an extensive range of products covering every standard area of sports supplementation: protein powders, amino acids, multivitamins, and fat burners.

Their unique selling point is that they specialize in supplements for women. Now, our regular readers will know how skeptical we are of this concept. In our opinion, there’s no such thing as a “female only supplement”. We’ve reviewed many fat burners supposedly made “specially for women”, and they always turn out to be either the same as the “male” product but with pink packaging, or just garbage.

We’ve actually reviewed an NLA For Her product before; the original Shred Her. As you will see if you follow that link, we weren’t impressed!

But that doesn’t mean this product will be the same. We need to give it a fair chance.

So what is Shred Her MAX all about? What is it supposed to do that the original couldn’t?

NLA Shred Her MAX bottle

As you can see from the bottle, this fat burner promises to do the following:

  • Promote fat loss
  • Boost energy levels
  • Improve mood
  • Suppress appetite

They are all exactly the kind of things we want to achieve with a fat burner.

Dieting is hard, and training while you diet is even harder. If a supplement can help keep us happy, motivated, and energized during a cut, then it is going to help us. After all, it is during a serious cut that you need your training to be most on-point. Chances are, you’re coming up to an important show, fight or meet. You need to make weight, but you need to be in top condition too. Being low on calories can kill our motivation and energy levels, which can in turn kill our training.

That’s where fat burners come in; they make up for the caloric deficit by powering you through your workouts and keeping you focused on your training.

If you’re anything like us, appetite control can actually be the biggest hurdle to a successful cut.

Any supplement that helps us avoid a Krispy Kreme binge is a big winner for us!

So, does NLA Shred Her MAX really work?

How dangerous is it? Will it cause side effects?

Is it worth the money? How does it compare to other fat burners being sold for a similar price?

We’ll answer all of these questions in our detailed Shred Her MAX review below. We kick off with a look under the hood of this popular fat burner. Do the ingredients have the backing of the latest scientific studies? Are the doses in the right ball park? Are they safe? At the end, we’ll tell you how we see this fat loss aid in comparison to the likes of Instant Knockout or Hourglass. Got questions? Post them in the comments!

Shred Her MAX Ingredients

We need to have a look at the formula to see what’s really going on here.

But first, let’s take a look at the original Shred Her formula so we can see how things have changed. Here is the original:

NLA For Her Shred Her Formula

And here is the new Shred Her MAX formula:

Formula label

That is still not a good formula – not by our standards at least.

NLA For Her have moved to go easier on the proprietary blend. They haven’t lumped everything together into a single blend with MAX like they did with the original Shred Her.

But they’re still using proprietary blends. That is never acceptable or excusable. In our opinion, it is just downright dishonest. Most good quality supplements today tell you exactly how each ingredient is dosed; there’s none of this “protecting our intellectual property” crap.

If some brands can do it and still make a killing, so can everyone.

The doses look low across the board here.

We see some bogus ingredients. One ingredient in the biggest blend does NOTHING for fat loss, and for all we know it could make up 90% of that blend.

We also see a stimulant we know to have a relatively high side effect risk profile.

Not a great formula overall then! We think you can get better value and better end results using dozens of other fat burners on the market right now.

What We Like…Sort Of

  • Good serving of caffeine anhydrous
  • Uses some good ingredients

The main upside to this fat burner is the fact that it provides an excellent serving of caffeine anhydrous.

Each 2 capsule serving provides a total of 200mg of caffeine anhydrous. Caffeine anhydrous is a dehydrated form of caffeine; it has had all the water molecules removed. It is therefore significantly more powerful than regular caffeine on a gram for gram basis.

Now, 200mg of caffeine is a lot for anybody to consume in a single sitting. It is about the equivalent of about 2 shots of espresso. So if you’ve ever had a double shot of espresso, 200mg of caffeine anhydrous is slightly more powerful than that!

Caffeine anhydrous equivalents

However, we recommend spacing your fat burner intake out throughout the day. This is, in our opinion, the best way to see results.

Instead of taking one big hit of caffeine before training, it’s better to drip feed yourself caffeine throughout the day. That way, you get a nice, mellow energy kick at various points throughout your day; first thing in the morning, while you’re in work, while you train, etc.

The same is true for appetite suppressants, fat mobilizers, everything; multiple, smaller hits per day is better than a single big influx.

If you split the Shred Her MAX dose up into two equal servings, then you get 100mg of caffeine anhydrous. This will give you a significant energy kick without conferring extra calories. It will give you the motivation and energy you need to get through a grueling training session if you take it 30 minutes before you begin.

200mg of caffeine anhydrous, spaced throughout the day, is a great way to reduce fatigue and keep mental energy levels nice and high while you cut.

Konjac root

Although they are pretty much all thrown in with other ingredients in a prop blend (so we don’t know the serving sizes), Shred Her MAX does contain some excellent fat burning ingredients.

For instance, we see that it contains some Konjac Root. This is an excellent source of a dietary fiber called Glucomannan. As you’ll see if you follow that link, we absolutely LOVE glucomannan. It is one of the most effective, sustainable, and side-effect free appetite suppressants int he world.

It doesn’t artificially suppress your appetite like stimulants or synthetic diet drugs. Instead, it forms a thick paste in your stomach (it has traditionally been used as a soup thickener). This makes you feel fuller for longer after each meal, but leaves you feeling hungry again when it comes to the next scheduled meal time.

This is why it is perfect for bodybuilders. It lets you still eat like a normal person so you can get in all the nutrients you need to grow and train. But it suppresses snacking and binge eating – the two things most likely to kill your physique.

Unfortunately though, Shred Her MAX can’t possibly provide enough Glucomannan for you to really benefit from it. It is part of a prop blend that is only 16.5mg in size!

Most top quality fat burners will provide up to 2g of the stuff!

16.5mg is PATHETIC, and it isn’t even the Glucomannan serving. It’s the maximum possible serving!

This brings us nicely onto the “what we don’t like” section. It’s short, but sweet!

-Learn More About Glucomannan & How It Works-

What We Don’t Like

  • Proprietary blends
  • Low doses – 40mg of green tea? Try 500!
  • Junk ingredients
  • Serious side effect concerns

There are A LOT of problems with Shred Her MAX. It’s actually hard for us to know where to begin.

We already explained why we hate proprietary blends above. Basically, there’s no good reason to use them. Lots of manufacturers don’t feel the need to use them; in fact, the best bodybuilding supplements on the market right now all show their full formulas on the packaging (as well as online). So when a brand does insist on using them, we have to wonder why?

What are they hiding?

But we aren’t going to spend too long dwelling on the prop blends here. We’ve made our point. It should be obvious to you anyway!

Raspberry ketones bogus

Prop blends aside, the main issue with Shred Her MAX is the use of bogus, over-hyped ingredients

For example, one of the ingredients in the Advanced Fat Incinerating Matrix is Raspberry Ketones. Contrary to popular belief, raspberry ketones have no effect whatsoever on your body fat levels. They have no effect on your energy levels, your appetite, your ability to gain muscle, or your ability to burn fat.

In short, they do NOTHING.

They are widely used in the supplement industry purely because they are extremely cheap to buy in large amounts, and because they have “ketone” in their name. This makes it an easy sell – people see ketone, they think fat loss.

We wont get into the keto diet here; we think it’s total pseudoscience, but that will take a separate article to explain in full.

But that doesn’t even matter. Raspberry ketones have nothing to do with the ketone bodies found in your body. Raspberry ketones are the organic compounds that give raspberries their distinctive smell. They are completely unrelated to the ketone bodies your body uses for fuel.

Raspberry ketones serve no purpose in the human body, and supplementing with them has never been shown to have any effect on the body. You will never find a scientific study showing them as having serious effects. Blog posts, yes. Studies, no.

We have no idea how much of this crap is in the Advanced Fat Incinerating Matrix. For all we know, it could be 90% or more of the 518.75mg blend.

We think NLA For Her have used such weird blend sizes to try to make it seem like they’ve been super precise about their dosing. There’s no reason why any of those ingredients should be dosed in the micrograms. We’re not falling for it![ It just looks weird and cheap.

Shred Her MAX Side Effects – Is It Safe?

We have some serious side effect concerns about this fat burner.

For one thing, it is seriously overloaded with different stimulants, some of which are potentially very dangerous.

Each serving provides 200mg of concentrated caffeine anhydrous. That is a lot by itself, but certainly manageable if you divide up the dose into two equal servings and space them out throughout the day.

However, eve 100mg of caffeine anhydrous is going to cause some of you some side effects (just as a shot of espresso is going to cause side effects). This is especially true if you have a low tolerance for caffeine.

Common side effects of caffeine consumption (especially over 70mg) include:

  • Headaches
  • Hypertension
  • Shortness of breath
  • Heart palpitations
  • Dizziness
  • Anxiety
  • Irritability
  • Sweating
  • Jitters
  • Energy crashes

If you are planning on consuming all of your NLA For Her Shred Her MAX in a single serving, then these side effect risks are magnified many times over.

You should also carefully work out your existing caffeine consumption before you decide to add in any more through supplements. If you’re a heavy coffee drinker, or you use a pre-workout, then more caffeine may not be a good idea.

Acute caffeine overdose can be FATAL. You have been warned. Do your research carefully and talk to your doctor before adding caffeine supplements to your diet.

Caffeine structure

But that is just the caffeine anhydrous!

SHRED HER MAX CONTAINS EVEN MORE STIMULANTS!

We have 20mg of caffeine coming from green tea which we need to add on top of our 200mg of caffeine anhydrous.

Then we have Teacrine (a branded form of theacrine). This is an extremely weak stimulant compared to caffeine, but it still has stimulatory effects. Stacked with powerful caffeine anhydrous, it could easily tip you over the edge into stimulant overload!

Finally, and worst of all, we have Hordenine

Hordenine is bad enough on its own. It is a nasty stimulant, typically found in cheap diet pills advertised on late-night TV.

Just some of the side effects associated with hordenine use include:

  • Very rapid heart rate
  • High blood pressure
  • Kidney stones
  • Dizziness
  • Fainting
  • Loss of appetite

We don’t think there’s any need for anybody to use hordenine. Stacked with a lot of caffeine and some theacrine, we think side effects are pretty much inevitable.

As we said, do your research carefully, assess your existing caffeine intake, and talk to a qualified medical professional before you go ANYWHERE NEAR this stack.

Beware!

It is absolutely vital that you keep the following in mind here:

  1. We’re not doctors
  2. This isn’t medical advice

We’re just giving you our unqualified medical opinion based on our experience and research. Talk to a doctor before you take any of the supplements referenced on this site. Your unique medical history is important, as is your own diet, lifestyle, and circumstances. Talk to your doctor first.

If you experience any side effects whatsoever while using this fat burner, discontinue use immediately and seek urgent medical attention. If possible, share your experiences in the comments section below so our other readers can learn from you!

Shred Her MAX Review Summary – Does It Work?

No. It really doesn’t look like it.

It contains an absolutely pathetic amount of glucomannan.

It uses proprietary blends to hide low serving sizes.

It contains multiple stimulants that cause side effects.

It’s an ultimately weak and over-priced fat burner.

If you’re serious about getting the best possible results from your next cut, don’t bother with this garbage. Use a potent, well balanced and safe fat burner designed by professionals, for professionals. Check out some of our top rated products to see what we mean.

Full Genius BURN 2.0 Review

The Genius Brand is probably one of the fastest growing supplement companies in the world. They burst onto the market just a few years ago, but they quickly made a very good name for themselves. They make a wide range of supplements, from focus enhancing pills to mood boosters. They also make various specialist bodybuilding supplements; creatine powder, a testosterone booster, BCAAs, and of course, a stim-free fat burner – Genius BURN.

So what is this fat loss aid all about?

What is it supposed to do exactly? Who is it made for?

Genius BURN bottle image

This review will focus on version 2 of this popular fat burner. As far as we can tell, the original Genius BURN is no longer being sold through the Genius Brand’s official online store.

Unlike most of the supplements reviewed on this site, this fat burner is described as a “cognitive enhancing thermogenic”. Plenty of supplements do combine focus enhancement with fat loss support, but they are definitely a minority.

According to the official Genius website, BURN 2.0 delivers the following key benefits:

  • Appetite control
  • Enhanced focus
  • Better memory function
  • Enhanced mental clarity
  • Sustained energy
  • Accelerated fat loss
  • Increases metabolic rate
  • Induced thermogenesis

This is a really attractive range of benefits for anybody looking for help getting better results from their next cut.

You might not get why you would want enhanced focus or memory function from a fat burner. But if you think about it, it’s obvious; when you’re dieting, you get tired, sluggish, and demotivated. You lose focus, and your workouts suffer. This is a real problem when cutting, as this is usually when you need your training to be totally on-point.

Of course, we want increased energy and appetite control too.

So this looks like a solid fat burner on paper.

The question is, how much of this is true, and how much is just hot air?

Does Genius BURN really work as advertised?

Is it safe? What kind of side effects can you expect?

How does it stack up next to the best fat burners around today?

Read our full Genius BURN review below and find out! We pick this product’s formula apart; we look at the ingredients and doses to see whether it can really deliver on its promises. We talk about the main health risks, as well as what some other people have been saying about it. If you’ve tried this fat stripper and you’d like to share your experiences, post them in the comments at the end!

Genius BURN 2.0 Formula

Let’s take a closer look at the Genius BURN 2.0 ingredients and doses:

Ingredients list

We’re far from impressed with that formula.

Like most supplements that try to be two things at once, we think Genius BURN has ended up being neither.

It has spread itself too thin between being a fat burner and a focus enhancer. It has done neither of these things convincingly.

We see some mini-proprietary blends here, as well as some weak ingredients.

There are some effective fat loss enhancers, as well as some focus boosters. But the doses are low in all the important places.

Overall, this formula does not look good!

What We Like

  • Cognizin® a very good focus and motivation booster
  • Provides some good green tea extract

Although we’re not happy with the Genius BURN formula as a whole, we can still see some serious strong points in this formula.

For one thing, it provides some good green tea extract.

Green tea contains a compound called EGCG. This catechin has some pretty incredible properties. Most interesting from our point of view is the ability to directly stimulate lipolysis, or fat metabolism for you and me.

As this study points out, EGCG has been shown to increase fat cell metabolism independently of exercise! Here is how the researchers stated their conclusion: “EGCG alone has the potential to increase fat oxidation in men and may thereby contribute to the anti-obesity effects of green tea.”

Green tea extract

That’s not something many natural substances can claim! EGCG doesn’t just help you lose fat by powering your workouts without providing more calories, or by controlling your appetite – it targets fat directly.

However, this all comes with a HUGE caveat.

We have absolutely no idea how much green tea we get from Genius BURN. All we know is that it is less than 250mg, which is the total blend size. That 250mg is split between 3 ingredients, but the other two ingredients could easily be dosed at 1-2mg.

Even if we get 240mg of green tea from each serving, that still isn’t enough to really get good results from this potentially superb fat burner. A lot of top quality supplements on the market today provide almost double that amount for a similar price!

-HIIT or Steady State Cardio: Which Is Better For Fat Loss?-

What We Don’t Like

  • Weak/unproven ingredients
  • Low doses in important areas
  • Mini proprietary blends

There’s a lot about this formula that we really don’t like. As mentioned above, Genius BURN uses mini proprietary blends which means that we don’t know how some of the ingredients are dosed.

That is a serious problem. Unless we know the doses, we don’t know how well certain ingredients are going to work for us. We discussed this above a little.

There’s no need for prop blends these days. Nobody steals from anybody – there’s just no point! We all know how these ingredients work, and how they need to be dosed to work optimally.

The only reason why anybody would use a prop blend is to hide some unpleasant truths from customers.

The use of prop blends then, even in the small way Genius have used them here, is a major failure.

Capsimax chilli extract

Another major problem with this formula is the fact that key ingredients are under-dosed. The main culprit here is Capsimax.

Capsimax is a branded capsicum extract. it is extremely high quality; it is sourced from pure capsicum chili oil, and it is standardized to be extremely potent. If you’re going to use a chili extract, then Capsimax is the gold standard.

It’s obvious why chili peppers help with fat loss. After all, we’ve all experienced chili burn!

Eating hot chili peppers causes your internal body temperature to increase. Your body initiates a stress response, and it starts trying to cool you down. You start to sweat, your blood vessels expand, and you can even swell slightly. This significantly raises your resting metabolic rate – it simply costs calories to keep yourself cool.

By dosing capsicum throughout the day, you can keep your baseline caloric expenditure elevated, thereby accelerating fat loss without having to reduce caloric intake.

We think that every natural fat burner needs to incorporate some kind of chili pepper extract – be it pure fruit powder or a concentrated capsiacin extract (capsaicin is the oil that actually causes the ‘burning’ sensation you get when you eat hot peppers).

This stack does provide some Capsimax, which is great, but we don’t get very much of it. Most stacks will provide about 100mg of Chili powder. Genius BURN only gives us 12.5mg, or 25mg if we take 2 capsules. That’s not enough by today’s standards!

Is Genius BURN Safe? – Side Effect Risks

As far as side effects go, we think Genius BURN looks pretty damn safe.

It doesn’t contain any nasty stimulants, synthetic drugs, or harmful chemicals. The ingredients in here are all well understood, and they have all been thoroughly tested on humans in clinical conditions. None of them are thought to be harmful to humans, at least when taken for short periods of time in sensible doses.

Our main problem is that most of the ingredients don’t do anything! Paradoxine (Grains of Paradise Extract) probably isn’t going to cause any notable side effects, but it isn’t going to do you any good either!

If you stick to the manufacturers recommendations (as you always should) regarding dosing and length of use, then most of you are going to experience very few side effects while using this stuff.

Of course, everybody is different. We don’t know you or your medical history, so we can’t possibly give you personalized advice; only your doctor can do that. All we can do is use our experience and knowledge to point out the obvious dangers as we see them.

Warning

  • We are not doctors
  • This is not medical advice
  • You MUST do your own research before using any fat burners
  • You NEED to talk to a qualified medical doctor before using any fat loss supplements

These stacks are not meant to be a cure for obesity. They are serious supplements designed for bodybuilders, strength athletes, and so on. If you struggle with weight management, check out some of our guides and talk to a professional.

Genius BURN 2.0 Review Summary – Worth A Try?

In our opinion, this really isn’t a very good fat burner.

It uses some weak, unproven, ineffective ingredients. In fact, most of the formula is dead weight – there are more dud ingredients in this formula than effective, potent fat burners.

The best ingredients are under-dosed; both Capsimax and Green Tea Extract are dosed too low for you to get maximal benefits out of these two great fat burners.

We really expected more from the Genius Brand. They have some incredibly popular products out there, and their range seems to be good quality on the whole.

If you want to see the best possible results – if you want to get the most out of your next cut – then check out some of our top rated fat burners. Genius BURN 2.0 doesn’t provide much value for money, and end results just aren’t up to scratch in today’s market.

Product Overview – What Is Performix SST?

Performix is easily one of the biggest bodybuilding supplement brands in the world. They aren’t a household name like Optimum Nutrition or MyProtein (if you’re in the UK), but these guys make some of the most popular sports supplements on the market. Their range includes all the usual suspects; whey protein powders, pre-workouts, and several different fat burners.

What is Performix SST supposed to do?

Who is it designed for exactly?

Performix SST box

As you can see on the box, SST stands for “suspension super thermogenic”. This is a reference to Performix’s TERRA “intelligent dosing” system. Performix makes a big deal about their capsules that stagger the release of certain ingredients. We don’t know how much of a difference this will make in terms of end results, but it’s certainly an interesting feature of their products.

If we look at the official website, we see that this product is designed to deliver the following key benefits:

  • “Ballistic” body energy
  • Enhanced mental focus
  • Accelerated fat metabolism

These are three really important things for a fat burner to deliver.

Most fat loss supplements on the market today concentrate exclusively on ramping up lipolysis (fat burning) and decreasing appetite. But it’s just as important that they help keep you focused and energized throughout your day, and through your workouts too.

There’s no mention of appetite anywhere on the website or on the box. That’s a real concern for us – any fat burner worth its salt should have some kind of hunger-controlling component.

But hey, you can’t have it all, right?!

The question we now need to answer is, does Performix SST really work?

Does it do all of the things it says it can?

Is Performix SST safe? What are the main side effect risks?

Performix SST Ingredients – Does The Formula Deliver?

Let’s check out the Performix SST formula:

Ingredients list

That is NOT what a high quality fat burner’s formula looks like.

We really expected more from Performix’s leading fat burner.

SST is one of the most popular fat loss aids on the market; people have been saying some awesome things about it on the major bodybuilding forums, and we’ve even seen several people using it in gym locker rooms.

So we were always going to be disappointed when we saw this big, bloated, homogeneous proprietary blend.

This isn’t even a passable formula by proprietary blend standards – it contains some ineffective, over-hyped ingredients, and some obvious filler ingredients too. There isn’t much in here to help accelerate lipolysis.

We are told how big the caffeine dose is, which is good.

There are some solid natural fat burners in here too.

Some ingredients will help keep you focused, depending on the dose (which we don’t know).

But overall, this is not a product we would recommend to anyone wanting to optimize their next cutting phase. We certainly wouldn’t recommend it to any bodybuilders, MMA fighters, or power athletes looking for help making weight for a contest.

What We Like

  • Large serving of caffeine
  • Huperzine A effective at promoting focus

We aren’t impressed with this fat burner on the whole. But there are some good things about it that we should point out.

For one thing, each serving provides a large serving of caffeine anhydrous: 200mg to be exact.

That is a very generous serving of caffeine anhydrous.

If you are consuming all 200mg in a single sitting, then it is probably going to be too much for you.

To give you a rough idea of how much caffeine that is, it is slightly more than you will get from 2-3 shots of espresso. And that’s naturally-occurring caffeine, not refined, purified caffeine anhydrous.

For pretty much all of you, that is going to far too much caffeine. We don’t think anybody will escape side effects from 200mg of potent caffeine anhydrous in a single dose.

BUT, if you split up your 2 capsule dose of Performix SST and take them at two different times of day, then the likelihood of side effects falls significantly.

100mg of caffeine, taken twice per day (maybe once in the morning and once right before a workout) will help keep you energized, focused, and motivated all day long; that means better performance both in work and at the gym.

Consuming pure caffeine anhydrous is likely to cause at least mild side effects in the vast majority of users. Check out the side effects section below for more on this.

What We Don’t Like

  • Big, bloated prop blend
  • Bogus ingredients
  • No appetite control
  • NOTHING TO BOOST LIPOLYSIS!

There are a hell of a lot of things that we dislike about this fat burner.

The main problem is probably the use of a proprietary blend.

There’s no good reason to hide your ingredient serving sizes behind a prop blend. Formula theft does not happen. It just doesn’t. Lots of other supplements reveal their full formula specs on the bottle. Most of the leading bodybuilding supplement brands are PROUD of their ingredient serving sizes. They plaster the doses all over their websites and all over the bottle.

Now, if these guys can make truckloads of cash, we have to wonder why some manufacturers have chosen to hide their individual ingredient doses from potential customers.

Whether it’s because they’re too scared of the big bad market, or because they’re hiding the truth they know will lead to fewer sales, we don’t care.

Other products offer transparency. These guys can’t. We know where our money’s going to go!

Synephrine from bitter orange

We think you should always stay well away from prop blends. They’re always going to give you poor value for money. They’re usually a blatant rip off. But the Performix SST prop blend has some specific problems that we need to talk about.

One of these is the fact that it uses over-hyped, ineffective, unproven ingredients, and we have no idea how much of these ingredients we get in each serving.

Take bitter orange for example.

This is a common ingredient in fat burning supplements. It is typically used for its synephrine content.

Synephrine is a compound that is said to be “structurally similar” to ephedrine, a powerful stimulant and fat burning agent. Indeed, synephrine does look like edhedrine when you look at the molecular structure.

BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT ACTS LIKE EPHEDRINE IN THE BODY!

If you look at hydrogen peroxide and dihydrogen monoxide (water) next to one another, they look pretty damn similar. Yet one is safe to drink, and the other is used to bleach hair.

There is no reason to believe that synephrine acts at all like ephedrine just because it appears to be “structurally similar” when drawn as a diagram.

Nor is there any compelling scientific proof that synephrine helps with fat loss. We are yet to see a single independent clinical trial, conducted on humans, in which synephrine accelerated fat loss.

Synephrine is one of those substances that is all hype and no bite.

And we have no idea how much synephrine we get from each serving of Performix SST. For all we know, this formula could be 70, 80, even 90% synephrine.

We could go on and on about all of the dud, unproven, over-hyped ingredients in this supplement.

Ashwagandha doesn’t do much.

Yohimbine lacks concrete scientific proof.

Mucuna Puriens isn’t thought to have any effect on fat loss whatsoever.

You get the idea.

There’s a lot in this fat burner not contributing to your goals. That’s stuff you’re paying for, while getting absolutely nothing in return.

-Ab Training Done Right – See Our Free Guide-

Another serious problem with Performix SST has nothing to do with what it does contain. It is more about what it doesn’t contain.

Performix SST is missing any of the ingredients we consider to be the best natural fat burners in existence (beyond exercise, that is). It is missing any of the staple fat burners we find in every top quality fat loss aid today!

There’s no major appetite suppressant in here; no Glucomannan or African Mango Extract.

There isn’t anything to help you actually mobilize fat; no green tea extract or purified EGCG.

There’s nothing to encourage thermogenesis; no capsaicin, for example, or even any chili powder.

There’s just none of the ingredients we look for in every fat burning supplement these days. These ingredients are real staples. They’re easy to procure, they’re safe, and they really work. Performix SST doesn’t give us any!

Performix SST Side Effects – Is It Safe?

The main concern when it comes to Performix SST and side effects is the caffeine content.

As mentioned above, we get a sizable dose of caffeine from each serving of this fat burner. Each 2 capsule serving gives us 200mg of purified caffeine anhydrous. Caffeine anhydrous is stronger than regular caffeine by weight, because it has had all of its water molecules removed.

Now, lots of you will think that this isn’t a lot of caffeine.

Well, it is. Caffeine is an incredibly powerful stimulant. It has immediate and wide ranging effects. Anything above 50mg in a single dose is going to cause at least mild side effects in most users.

200mg is as much caffeine you get from 2-3 espressos. At this dose, side effects are likely to include:

  • Headaches
  • Anxiety
  • Hypertension
  • Irritability
  • Lack of focus
  • Jitters
  • Sweating
  • Dizziness
  • Light headedness
  • Shortness of breath

Chronic caffeine abuse can have lasting effects, like an elevated risk of heart disease and chronic insomnia.

Caffeine overdose can be fatal if acute.

Bottom line: TAKE CAFFEINE SERIOUSLY!

It is vital that you calculate your existing caffeine intake before adding in any more through Performix SST. 200mg might sound like a reasonable dose to you, but if you’re already consuming lots of coffee, tea, and caffeine-loaded pre-workout supplements, that 200mg can put you over the edge into dangerous territory. Calculate your existing caffeine intake carefully and, if you choose to use Performic SST, maybe cut out 200mg from elsewhere in your diet.

The use of bitter orange extracts is also a bit of a worry for us here.

We don’t think these extracts do anything, but the people who sell them claim that they work in a similar way to ephedrine.

If true, that would be a real problem. Ephedrine is a drug used to treat allergic reactions and asthma. It is not something to be playing around with. We don’t think this is the case, but if synephrine works in any way like ephedrine, side effects are going to be a concern.

Talk to a doctor before using this stuff!

Warning

You need to consider the following facts while reading our fat burner reviews:

  • We aren’t doctors
  • This isn’t medical advice
  • You need to do your own research and consult your regular family doctor before using any fat loss supplements

Stay safe; talk to your doctor about your plans before you use any of the supplements discussed on this site.

Performix SST Review Summary – Should You Use It?

We wouldn’t recommend this fat burner to anybody looking to get more out of their next cut.

If you are looking for help making your next fat loss phase more effective or easier, then there are much better options out there than Performix SST.

It doesn’t contain any of the staple fat burning agents we expect from modern fat loss supplements.

Its formula is listed as a big prop blend. Some of the ingredients are total duds. That means that the formula could be 99% dud ingredients for all we know (caffeine excluded).

If you want value for money, look elsewhere. This is a seriously disappointing fat burner.

Full INVIGOR8 Fat Burner Review

We are really excited to get a full INVIGOR8 fat burner review published. This product is seriously popular right now. It has generated a lot of chatter on bodybuilding forums, and lots of supplement review websites have given it a full appraisal. INVIGOR8 already have a meal replacement shake on the market, and that is proving very popular with fitness enthusiasts and physique competitors.

So what does INVIGOR8 Fat Burner have to offer that something like Thermofight X does not?

What does it claim to do exactly? Who is it designed for?

INVIGOR8 Fat Burner bottle

As you can see for yourself, the bottle describes this product as a “natural appetite suppressant”. We’re told that INVIGOR8 Fat Burner “increases energy” right on the front of the bottle too. We can assume that these two functions are the most important aspects of this fat burner.

More specifically, INVIGOR8 Fat Burner claims to deliver the following benefits:

  • Accelerates fat loss
  • Reduces food cravings
  • Reduces appetite
  • Boosts energy levels without providing extra calories

That sounds like a good fat burner to us.

While we don’t want a supplement that fills us full of stimulants, we do want a product that gives us an energy boost all-day-long.

Dieting is hard, and a serious cut can negatively impact our training (just when we need our training to be 100% on point). We don’t want our gym sessions to suffer, but we also don’t want to be consuming extra calories. So we need help staying motivated, energized, and focused.

We also need help keeping on top of food cravings, accelerating fat metabolism, and helping to control appetite.

If INVIGOR8 Fat Burner can actually do all of these things, then it will be a great tool for anyone looking to get more out of their next cut.

The question is, does it really work as advertised? Or is all this just marketing hype?

Is INVIGOR8 Fat Burner legit?

Is it safe? Will it cause side effects?

How does it compare to our top rated fat burners?

Find out by reading our full INVIGOR8 Fat Burner review below. We delve deeper into this product’s formula to find out if it really delivers on its ambitious claims. If you have any questions, please let us know in the comments section at the end. Please also post any experiences you might have had with this fat loss supplement at the end.

INVIGOR8 Fat Burner Formula

Let’s take a look at the INVIGOR8 Fat Burner ingredients:

Ingredients analysis

That’s not the best formula we’ve ever seen. Not by a long shot.

There’s a lot that we dislike here; plenty of dud ingredients, a lack of any real appetite suppressant, and no decent shot of caffeine.

This formula is almost completely made up of ineffective, unproven ingredients.

There are some good ingredients too, of course. Some of these substances do help with fat loss. But overall, this is a low quality formula.

What We Like

  • Good dose of green coffee bean extract
  • Good dose of green tea extract

On the whole, we’re not impressed with this supplement at all.

However, there are some positive things about INVIGOR8 Fat Burner.

For one thing, each serving provides a very healthy dose of green coffee bean extract.

Green coffee bean extract has been proven to facilitate fat loss in several different clinical trials.

For example, in this study, published in Phytotherapy Research in 2014, researchers found that a decaffeinated green coffee bean extract drink was able to increase fatty acid metabolism.

The researchers noted that the compound driving the effect was probably chlorogenic acids (CGAs): “lipolytic activity observed following short-term incubation could be tentatively linked to residual caffeine traces in the sample, longer-term exposure clearly showed the effects of Svetol® on release of free fatty acids, and this effect was not due to caffeine. The results of this study provide a further mechanism by which to explain the long-term health benefits of CGAs and Svetol®.”

Green coffee beans

It seems that green coffee bean extract, or rather the chlorogenic acids it contains, help to modulate insulin release. This means a reduced insulin response to food, which in turn means that your body experiences less of a “store” drive when you consume food. We think this is why many have inferred that it reduces glucose absorption; instead, we think it probably just blunts insulin spikes.

This is extremely important while fasting. The blood sugar spike you get once you break a fast is pronounced, and your body will want to store as many of those calories as it can. Chlorogenic acids found in green coffee bean extract can help attenuate that response.

The 200mg of green coffee bean extract we get from INVIGOR8 Fat Burner is more than enough to get the full benefits out of this brilliant natural fat burner.

What We Don’t Like

  • Ineffective, unproven, over-hyped ingredients
  • No true appetite control
  • Could use some caffeine

Unfortunately there’s a lot more to this fat burner that we dislike than we do like.

The main issue is the heavy use of ineffective, over-hyped ingredients that lack any scientific proof.

That’s a SERIOUS problem for us.

Take raspberry ketones, for example.

Many people think these things have something to do with weight loss, presumably because it contains the word “ketone”.

Well, the ketones you find in your body have absolutely NOTHING to do with raspberry ketones (ketones being a very broad term for a large class of organic compounds).

Raspberry ketones are the organic compounds in raspberries that give them their distinctive smell. They have no function in the human body AT ALL.

None.

As we explained in this article, they are only used in supplements because 1) they’re an easy sell because of the word “ketone” and 2) because the supplement industry has a ready supply of these things, and they cost nothing.

They are, effectively, an industry-wide scam.

Any supplement that contains these things is ripping you off to some degree.

Any manufacturer who claims they help with fat loss is purposefully lying to you. There isn’t a shred of scientific evidence that raspberry ketones promote fat loss, and there never will be. All we have to go on is the word of supplement manufacturers.

Raspberry ketones ineffective for fat loss

We could go on and on about the dud ingredients in INVIGOR8 Fat Burner: chrysin, olive leaf extract, etc. But it would be a waste of time. Most of this formula is bogus, over-hyped, and unproven.

We strongly advise you to look up each individual ingredient before you buy and make sure it actually has some scientific backing!

Before we move on to the side effects, however, we do need to discuss one other problem. That is the fact that this fat burner doesn’t contain any well proven appetite suppressant.

The bottle explicitly states that this fat loss supplement helps control hunger and food cravings.

The website says explicitly that it helps to control your appetite and stop over eating.

We see no evidence of that.

The formula does contain Garcinia Cambogia, but we believe this plant extract to be totally bogus. You’ll find plenty of amateur bodybuilders talking this stuff up (no doubt in order to win a sponsorship). You’ll find plenty of blogs hyping Garcinia as a potent appetite suppressant. You’ll definitely find lots of manufacturer-produced guides on how amazing this stuff is.

But what you wont find is a conclusive, independent scientific study showing that Garcinia Cambogia does anything more than make food slightly more satisfying.

The lack of a proper, conclusively proven hunger-killer is a major let-down here.

INVIGOR8 Fat Burner Side Effects

This doesn’t look like a very dangerous fat burner to us.

The ingredients are all widely used in other supplements today (unfortunately). They seem to rarely cause serious side effects.

They have all been thoroughly studied in a clinical setting, and while most of them have never been found to have any fat burning properties, we believe few have ever been found to cause serious health risks.

That said, we are only speaking generally here. Just because something is generally safe for most people doesn’t mean it is safe for everyone.

It is vital that you do your own research before you use any supplements whatsoever. It is also crucial that you talk to a qualified doctor – preferably your family doctor – before using any fat burners. This is not medical advice; just our opinion. We aren’t doctors.

Remember, fat burners are not meant for obese people. They are designed for athletes with some experience using such supplements in the past. They are not a cure for being overweight – they are a tool for serious bodybuilders, strength athletes, and combat sports practitioners.

INVIGOR8 Fat Burner Review Summary – Not Worth The Money

This isn’t a very good fat burner in our opinion.

Most of the ingredients lack any real scientific proof. They are ineffective duds, included to make the manufacturer money, not to help you lose more body fat.

It lacks anything to help control appetite or over-eating.

It doesn’t provide any purified caffeine.

All things considered, this is a pretty terrible fat burner! If you want to get more out of your next cutting phase, then check out some of our top rated fat burners. INVIGOR8 Fat Burner is not worth the price tag.
