Fat Metaboliser is a fat loss supplement produced by Lean Nutrition, a UK-based bodybuilding supplement manufacturer.
They produce a wide range of products, including whey protein isolates, creatine, BCAAs, and pre-workout powders. Fat Metaboliser is their only fat burner, so obviously we expect it to be pretty comprehensive.
But who cares what we expect? You’re not here for that.
What does Lean Nutrition Fat Metaboliser claim to actually do for you?
According to the official merchant page, Lean Nutrition Fat Metaboliser gives you the following benefits:
- Supports normal fat metabolism
- Assists with the normal breakdown of carbohydrates and fatty acids
- Provides an energy boost with natural stimulants
Of course, every fat burner will tell you that it can support fat metabolism.
However, assisting with the “normal breakdown of carbohydrates and fatty acids” isn’t something we normally see on a fat burner’s label. We aren’t too sure what this means, but we suspect it might have something to do with insulin regulation. We will see in the formula review below!
So, all of this sounds good. But this is just what the manufacturer says about their product.
And we can’t always take their word for things.

All we have to go on here is an ingredients list.
This is a HUGE problem.
Proprietary Blend – NOT EVEN A TOTAL BLEND SIZE!
Proprietary blends are a big problem in general.
The effectiveness of any natural fat burning substances (or any substance for that matter) is dependent on the dosage in question.
So the EGCG in green tea can rapidly speed up your metabolism and cause greater fat loss than you could achieve without it. But this is only true when you take enough of it; say, 500mg of green tea concentrate per day.
Will 50mg have the same effect?
Will 5mg do anything at all?
Of course not!
So talking about ingredients is all well and good, but it’s all waffle unless we know the individual ingredient serving sizes.
That’s why proprietary blends usually present us with such a big problem. If all we have is a total blend serving size, we don’t know how much of each ingredient is in each serving.
Sure, we could guess.
But then we have to wonder why a manufacturer would leave us guessing like this. If they were genuinely offering a market-leading formulation, they’d surely be shouting it from the rooftops?
We think these manufacturers only reveal the total blend size because the bulk of their formula is taken up by cheap, ineffective “filler” ingredients.
If they told us how much of each ingredient we were getting, nobody would buy it. So they rely on the fact that some customer will guess the doses to be more generous than they are in reality.
Incredibly, we don’t even get a total blend size with Lean Nutrition Fat Metaboliser.
So we can’t even speculate about the likely effectiveness of this fat burner.
Since we don’t know if each serving is 1g in total or 1mcg, it’s pointless to even start guessing about how much of each ingredient might be in each capsule.
That Lean Nutrition have put you, the potential customer, in this position just shows their lack of respect for you.
They don’t want you doing things like thinking about your purchase. They just want you to read their promises, see their adverts, and hand over your cash.
If a manufacturer isn’t bragging about their formula’s great dosing, that’s one thing.
To not even want to talk about the total serving size; that’s something we have never seen before. Hopefully it is not something we see again.

The safety of any substance is total correlated to the amount you are taking.
That is true of all supplements, drugs, even food and water.
Just as we can’t talk about side effects with any seriousness without knowing individual ingredient serving sizes, we can’t really talk about side effects either.
But here we don’t even have the total blend size.
Therefore, talk of the likely side effects of using Lean Nutrition Fat Metaboliser is even more pointless.
It would just be wild speculation. None of you came here for that.
For example, if the total blend size is 3g, then there could easily be enough caffeine in here to cause you some problems.
If the total blend size is 30mg, then there physically can’t be enough caffeine to cause problems.
We just don’t know!
What should you take from this? Does this mean Lean Nutrition Fat Metaboliser is probably safe?
The answer is that we don’t know if it is safe. And if we don’t feel confident that something is safe, generally speaking we refer to it as unsafe.
Or certainly not worth the risk when there are other options with concrete, known risk levels.

This is the worst proprietary blend we have ever reviewed on this site.
Most proprietary blends, while having fundamental problems, will at least tell you the total blend size.
If they don’t contain any obvious ‘filler’ ingredients, we can at least begin to speculate about the likely doses used in each capsule. From that, we can start to guess at the likely effectiveness of the product.
Lean Nutrition Fat Metaboliser hasn’t even thought it necessary to give us a total blend size to work with.
Not only do they not want us to know how each ingredient is dosed, but they don’t even want us to know how big a serving is in total.
Manufacturers will often claim that this is done to protect their formula from being “stolen”.
This is nonsense. It is impossible to get a patent when using such obvious ingredients (with known properties, known ideal serving size ranges, and so on). Usually, proprietary blends are just used to hide the poor quality of the formula.
