A quick search for “Lipozene review” on Google returns hundreds of results, and “Lipozene” itself gets tends of thousands of searches per month. Clearly, this is either a very popular product or it has some heavy-duty marketing behind it. Maybe both.
But you’re not here to find out how popular Lipozene fat burner is.
You’re here to find an answer to the question: does Lipozene work?
That’s the question we’re going to try to answer in this detailed and impartial Lipozene review.
So what is Lipozene? What does Lipozene do (supposedly)?
Lipozene is manufactured by the suspiciously named Obesity Research Institute.
Don’t be fooled, these guys are not a research institute at all; more on this later.
According to the ORI, Lipozene is a “clinically proven fat burner”. They say that it is capable of delivering:
- Reduced body fat
- Reduced appetite
- Feeling of fullness
- Weight loss
This is pretty unremarkable stuff really. Reduced body fat, weight loss; these are things we expect from a fat burner by its very nature.
Our readers don’t want weight loss exactly; you guys want to keep as much muscle as you can, so just losing weight isn’t the goal here. Fat loss is the goal. But we get what ORI are getting at.
It seems that the only concrete benefit claimed by this product is appetite suppression.
It is therefore nothing like the professional, comprehensive fat burners we usually review on this site.
Lipozene is not like Instant Knockout, BurnerTek, Burn-XT, and those kinds of fat burners. It is a weight loss pill, not a specialist bodybuilding supplement and athletic enhancement product.
So, we’re left with just a few simple questions.
Does Lipozene really work?
Is it safe – what are the side effect risks?
What are other people saying about Lipozene?
Who are the Obesity Research Institute anyway? Are they a serious manufacturer or just a bunch of scam artists?

Who Are The ORI?
Lipozene is manufactured by the Obesity Research Institute.
DO NOT BE FOOLED – THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL ORGANISATION.
Obesity Research Institute LLC is a registered private company. According to company listings, it is registered as a dietary supplement manufacturer.
They have just chosen this name for marketing purposes – a dirty trick in our book.
The company address is listed as a Suite in Reno; hardly befitting of a prestigious research institute.
But that’s not all we found in the course of our research.
According to public documents, the Manager of Obesity Research Institute LLC, a Mr. Henny den Uijl, was or is also involved with another company called Fiberthin LLC.
Fiberthin LLC looks to be a child company of Obesity Research Institute LLC. We don’t know if this is still the case or not.
Amazingly, it seems that Mr. Henny den Uijl has already been sued for selling dietary supplements that do not deliver on the extravagant promises made by his company.

As you can see from page 4, line 24, the managers of Fiberthin LLC were ordered to stop saying the following about their products:
- Causes rapid or substantial weight loss without the need to reduce caloric
intake or increase physical activity; - Enables users to lose as much as 8 pounds or more per month without the
need to reduce caloric intake or increase exercise; - Works for all users; or
- Causes substantial weight loss through blocking the absorption of fat or
calories
Isn’t that something?
With such a good pedigree, we’re really expecting great things from Lipozene fat burner.
We struggled to find an official website for Obesity Research Institute; instead, we just found the Lipozene sales page. The page is simply a “BUY IT NOW” page, with very little information and several areas to put in your personal details for your free trial.
In our experience, trials are never free. Beware when signing up for these things; plenty of people find themselves locked into a subscription they struggle to cancel.
Now that this is dealt with, let’s take a look at Lipozene itself. What does the formula have to offer?

Lipozene Formula – Clinically Proven Fat Burner?
Here is the Lipozene formula. Unfortunately, this is the best image of the formula that we are able to find. The label is not shown on the official Lipozene website for some reason. As such, we’re forced to resort to low-quality photography:

Thankfully, the formula is so small that this isn’t a big problem.
All we have here is 1500mg of Amorphophallus Konjac.
This is also known as Konjac Root, or to give it the name we normally use on this site, Glucomannan.
That’s it. Nothing else. Just glucomannan.
No thermogenic substances like cayenne chili extract.
No caffeine to keep you energized and motivated while you diet.
No green coffee bean extract to help with insulin control.
No green tea catechins to speed up your metabolism.
Just glucomannan.
As far as optimizing fat loss goes, this simply isn’t sufficient.
Glucomannan is a great ingredient, but to be truly effective it needs to be part of a wider formula.
The best fat burners take a comprehensive, multi-pronged approach to fat loss optimization.
Most of you won’t be looking for something that will make you stop eating altogether. You want something that will help you get ripped, lean, and looking good without causing you to waste away.
You care about your physique, and you don’t want to throw away muscle mass for the sake of losing a few extra pounds.
To you, body fat percentage is important, not the number on the scale.

Crucially, it prevents food cravings without depriving you of essential nutrients or calories (as fat and carb blockers do).
We think it’s the perfect appetite suppressant in many ways.
But it is simply not enough on its own.
Glucomannan supplements can be found for significantly less money than this. When we pay premium prices for supplements, we expect premium quality; that means a comprehensive blend of high quality, carefully selected ingredients.
Lipozene does not constitute a comprehensive, professional fat burner. Not by any stretch of the imagination. It offers the same benefits as generic supplements for premium prices.
What About Dosing?
Perhaps the most shocking thing about Lipozene is the dosing.
It contains just one ingredient, so we would expect to see a lot of it.
But Lipozene doesn’t even contain that much glucomannan.
Certainly not by professional standards.
