Full Burning Man Review
You’d be forgiven for never having heard of Burning Man before. It is not one of the standard fat burners you will find in your local supplement store, and it is not usually listed as a recommended product by online bodybuilding forums.
However, we don’t think Burning Man will stay so under the radar for much longer. This supplement is getting a lot of praise from some supplement review websites, and we think it’s just a matter of time before it becomes one of the most talked about fat burners of the year. So, we couldn’t wait any longer before doing a full Staunch Nation Burning Man review.
So what is this supplement all about? Who is made by, and who is it designed for?
Burning Man is manufactured by Staunch Nation; a relatively new supplement manufacturer offering a range of bodybuilding supplements. The range currently includes two pre-workouts, BCAAs, creatine, and of course, Burning Man fat burner.
Staunch Nation are based in Orem, Utah in the United Sates. However, the ‘motto’ of Burning Man seems to be “feel the burn, mate”, and their brand icon seems to be Calumn Von Moger, the Australian bodybuilder. It is likely then that the company originated in Australia and is now based in the US.
According to the official merchant page, Burning Man can deliver the following key benefits:
- Enhanced physical performance
- Elevated mood
- Greater energy levels
- Accelerated fat loss
This all sounds great. If Staunch Nation can actually give us these benefits through Burning Man, then we’ll have a seriously great product on our hands.
The question is, can Burning Man really deliver? Or are these empty promises?
Have Staunch Nation created a genuinely great fat burner, or is this another example of a second-rate supplement making promises it can’t keep?
Is Burning Man fat burner safe? What are the side effect risks?
Most importantly, can it help you achieve your specific goals? Is there a better option out there for you?
Let’s find out. We will try to answer all of these questions below in our full Staunch Nation Burning Man review. If you get to the end of the review and you still have some questions, please just post them in the comments section below.
Burning Man Formula
Let’s take a closer look at the Burning Man formula. Here is the ingredient list as displayed on the official website:
On the whole, the Staunch Nation Burning Man formula looks pretty good.
We have every single ingredient serving size listed right on the label. This should be a given, but many supplement manufacturers only give us proprietary blends. Proprietary blends almost always mean low quality product, so it’s great to see a manufacturer being so open with their formula.
After all, if you think your product is good, why not share it?
There is also a good range of ingredients here.
That said, there are still some things that we would definitely change. They are not major problems by and large, but Burning Man definitely has areas where it could be much better.
To make it easy for you to take it all in, we’ll split the Burning Man formula review up into what we like, and what we don’t like.
What We Like
There’s a lot we like about this product.
For starters, each serving of Burning Man provides 300mg of green tea extract, of which 150mg is EGCG.
Green tea contains many substances which contribute to better health, brain function and longevity. But for purposes of losing fat, EGCG is what we’re most interested in.
This compound has been shown in several independent clinical trials to be able to bring about significantly increased fat loss. It seems to work independently of diet and exercise (compared to things like caffeine which exert no fat burning effects if consumed with excess calories or without exercise).
Some fat burners contain far more EGCG than this, but many high quality fat burners contain a lot less.
The 200mg of caffeine anhydrous per serving is also enough to give almost all users a serious energy boost.
When taken in regular servings broken up throughout the day, an extra 200mg of potent caffeine anhydrous can help you stay focused and motivated, avoiding those huge energy crashes that occur around mid-afternoon when your lunch wasn’t quite big enough.
Some fat burners contain more caffeine anhydrous than this. Generally speaking, unless you’re using a professional-quality fat burner that splits up their caffeine dosing throughout the day, 200mg is more than sufficient.
If you are using a professional-quality fat burner with sensible dosing parameters, then you can go up to 300mg or more.
There is 100mg of Capsimax in Burning Man, which is great to see.
Capsimax is a high quality, branded form of capsicum chili extract. Capsimax is designed to “deliver of the benefits of capsaicin without the burn”. Basically, it raises your body temperature from within, triggering your body’s cooling mechanisms.
These mechanisms burn a huge number of extra calories. Capsimax thus essentially raises your resting caloric expenditure, as well as the number of calories you burn during exercise.
Unless you are a seasoned user and Capsimax is losing its punch, you shouldn’t need any more than 100mg per daily serving.
Burning Man is one of the only supplements we have ever come across that actually doses its amino acids correctly.
Burning Man provides 1,000mg of Carnitine per serving.
Carnitine is an amino acid highly prevalent in the human diet. As such, it needs to be taken in relatively large amounts to have a discernible effect on physical performance.
A lot of supplements go light on carnitine. It’s sometimes just thrown in for the sake of showing it off on the ingredients list.
Not here though. We get a full gram of the stuff from Staunch Nation Burning Man, which is about right for improving physical performance and enhancing fat loss.
What We Don’t Like
While there is plenty about Staunch Nation Burning Man that we like, there is also plenty that we don’t like. In fact, there are one or two fairly serious problems with this fat burner which we need to address here.
For starters, it uses some totally ineffective ingredients.
Substances like Coleus Forskholii and Yohimbe are often said to be powerful testosterone boosters. It is thought that using these substances on a daily basis can naturally raise free testosterone levels. Obviously, doing so would lead to more lean muscle mass and lower body fat levels.
The problem is that they simply don’t work.
We’ve never seen any convincing evidence that Coleus Forskholii or Yohimbe do anything to improve testosterone levels, body fat levels, physical performance; anything at all really. Until we do, we have ton conclude that it is just marketing hype and nothing more.
We also aren’t convinced that ThermoDiamine is a good addition to the Burning Man formula.
ThermoDiamine is just a branded name for evodiamine; a chemical extracted from the Evodia plant, which is native to Korea and China.
Evodia fruit has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine. It has long been used to treat a variety of ailments (as is always the case in traditional medicine – everything cures everything).
As far as we know, beyond a mouse study here and there, there hasn’t been a great deal of investigation in evodiamine at all. The Staunch Nation website mentions two studies apparently proving evodiamine’s status as a fat burner.
We can’t find which studies they are referring to. Until we see them, we’re going to conclude that it is a whole lot of hot air and little more.
There is also a lot missing from this supplement.
For one thing, we don’t get any green coffee bean extract. GCBE is one of the best natural fat burners on the planet, as we explain in this article. Most top quality, professional-level fat burners now provide some green coffee bean extract. We get none from Burning Man.
There’s also nothing to help suppress appetite.
Again, we expect to see serious fat burners today providing something to help keep hunger pains and food cravings at bay. This is sometimes in the form of stimulants, which we don’t approve of, or in the form of things like glucomannan which help bulk out the physical food in your stomach.
In any case, there’s nothing in Burning Man to help with appetite suppression; a key component of modern fat burners.
These are just two omissions from the formula which we think makes Staunch Nation Burning Man lag behind other fat burners on the market today.
There are more, but these are the two which immediately jumped out at us. You don’t need GCBE or glucomannan to be a good fat burner, but you need some form of appetite suppressant and some GCBE to be a great one.
Burning Man Side Effects
There are a few ingredients in Burning Man which give us cause for concern with regards to side effects.
Hordenine is a stimulant commonly used in cheap, scammy diet pills. You know the kind advertised late at night? The “drop 50lbs in 3 weeks” kind of pills? Yes, those.
Hordenine is known to cause side effects in a relatively high proportion of users. These side effects can be serious. They include elevated heart rate, elevated blood pressure, sweating, headaches, stomach discomfort, and light-headedness. According to some sources, hordenine also increases the risk of developing kidney stones.
Coleus Forskholii is also associated with side effects. They seem to be rare, but it seems that CF is more likely to cause side effects than most of the ingredients we usually find in top-quality fat burners.
Staunch Nation Burning Man Review Conclusion
After doing a full Burning Man review, we are confident in telling our readers that this is a fairly good fat burner on the whole.
It provides some great fat burning ingredients at good doses. Together, these ingredients can deliver accelerated fat loss, enhanced physical performance, and better results during your next cutting phase.
However, it does have severe weaknesses.
It contains some totally useless ingredients.
Yohimbe, for example, is said to be a powerful natural testosterone booster. However, this has never been properly demonstrated in clinical trials. We believe it is just marketing hype.
The same is true of several ingredients in Burning Man.
Perhaps the biggest problem with Burning Man is what it lacks, rather than what it does contain.
There is no appetite suppressor in Burning Man.
There is no Green Coffee Bean Extract.
There’s no chromium. No B12.
It is missing a lot of what we expect to see in a professional, modern fat burning supplement.
If you are keen to use Burning Man, then we don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t give it a try. Yet there are definitely better fat burners on the market today.
Burning Man will get results for most of you. But we think other supplements will deliver significantly better results. It is a fairly decent fat burner, but it is far from the best.
