Full Sheer Thermo Fat Burner Review
Product Overview – What Is Sheer Thermo?
Sheer Thermo is a fat loss supplement made by Sheer Strength Labs.
We first saw Sheer Thermo on Amazon, where it was listed as a “Best Seller”. We come across lots of supplements listed as “Best Sellers” on online marketplaces, and more often than not, they turn out to be over-hyped, over-priced, and ultimately useless to someone looking to get the biggest lipolysis bang for their buck.
We therefore felt that we had to do a proper Sheer Thermo fat burner review.
According to Sheer Strength Labs, Sheer Thermo has been formulated to “cut fat while preserving muscle and enhancing cognitive function”. We are told on the merchant page that the effects of Sheer Thermo are apparent in “the first few days”.
Spectacularly, it is also claimed that Sheer Thermo is able to “target belly fat directly”.
Well, this is all very impressive, but we have heard this kind of thing before. In most cases, such claims are a good sign that the product is either totally ineffective, dangerous, or in some cases, a complete scam.
But is that the case with Sheer Thermo? Can Sheer Thermo “target belly fat directly”? Can it help you lose fat while preserving muscle?
Or is this another case of an over-hyped product relying on clever marketing to make sales?
Let’s try to answer these questions. Here’s the latest Sheer Thermo fat burner review.
Sheer Thermo Ingredients
As usual, we’ll focus most of our attention on the formula itself.
Here is the ingredient list provided on the Sheer Strength Labs website. We have checked, and it seems to be the same as the label that appears on the bottle:
Hordenine is a terrible ingredient.
Typically used as one of the main ingredients in the horrendous “get skinny quick” pills you see being advertised in the back of magazines and on TV, Hordenine is essentially a natural stimulant usually synthesized from plants. In most cases, it is synthesized from bitter orange.
At high doses, it is known to cause an elevated heart rate, rapid breathing, and high blood pressure.
As you will obviously know, something that causes rapid breathing and high blood pressure at rest is not something you want to take on a regular basis.
On top of that, there isn’t even enough scientific evidence to conclude that Hordenine does actually help with fat loss.
Now, Sheer Thermo only contains 25mg of Hordenine.
This is probably not enough to cause the serious side effects people experience when taking scam diet pills.
But it is still a terrible ingredient, and the way it interacts with caffeine is still being investigated.
Here is a breakdown of the other ingredients and what they do:
Forskolin has been used in traditional medicines in parts of the world for a very long time, although of course not in a purified, extract form. They would use the whole plant: coleus forskohlii. Uses have traditionally included alleviating nausea and digestion problems.
Today, some people believe that Forskolin has some properties that can help users burn fat more effectively. They claim that it does this by stimulating the synthesis of an enzyme called adenylyl cyclase, which in turn stimulates other enzymes, which leads to enhanced fat burning.
However, if you look at more reliable, scientific sources, you’ll find that evidence supporting these claims is thin at best.
Green tea catechins are a fantastic ingredient.
Generally speaking, manufacturers list green tea extract on their formula lists, but it is really the catechins we are interested in, and it is safe to assume that the two terms are fairly interchangeable.
One catechin in particular, ECGC, offers enormous benefits to anyone looking to shed lingering fat. It has been shown in numerous clinical trials to enhance fat oxidation. It is relatively safe, well-tolerated, and reliably effective for most people.
Caffeine anhydrous is just caffeine which has been dehydrated, making it in a sense “purer” and more potent than caffeine on a weight for weight basis.
Caffeine helps us stay focused and on top of our game while dieting, and it also helps us work harder for longer in the gym. This is a major benefit while cutting calories, when performance is invariably compromised.
200mg seems about right for caffeine anhydrous, although it could be a little higher.
Bacopa monnieri is creeping up more and more these days in fat loss supplements, but we simply don’t know why.
Bacopa monnieri is a common ingredient found in “brain booster” supplements, due to its ability to improve memory function if taken regularly for many weeks.
As impressive as it may be at supporting memory function, that isn’t something we need in a fat burner!
Sure, substances that give us an energy boost throughout the day is useful when cutting, and a sharp focus boost before the gym is great, but few people looking for a fat burner are looking for a supplement to help them store lots of complex information int he long term.
Furthermore, Bacopa seems to only be effective when taken for two months or more, with the effects building over time. People do not ususally take fat burners continuously for 4 or 5 months at a time.
We were similarly confused by the 5-HTP and the Yohimbe.
Again, these two are cropping up time and again in new fat burners, but they really have no place being there.
5-HTP is a supplement used to support mood in people running low on serotonin (one of the “happy hormones”).
Yohimbe is thought to offer some testosterone support, which is why it is usually found in natural testosterone boosters. But its effectiveness when taken alone is highly questionable.
Can Sheer Thermo Do Everything It Claims?
To put it quite bluntly: no, no it cannot.
For starters, no supplement can target a specific area of body fat.
To reduce body fat, you need to reduce over all body fat; there is no such thing as focusing on belly fat or arm fat or whatever. Any improvements in body composition you see from targeting a specific area are from overall fat loss coupled with spot muscular development.
In a sense Sheer Thermo could help you lose fat while preserving muscle mass, but this has nothing to do with the supplement itself.
Any fat burner, if used correctly in conjunction with the right diet and exercise regime, can help you burn fat while preserving muscle mass to a far greater degree than would otherwise be possible.
Sheer Thermo Fat Burner Customer Reviews
If you’re looking for an independent Sheer Thermo fat burner review, then you might find it hard to tell the biased reviews from the unbiased ones.
This is always a problem with looking at reviews on Amazon, such as this one:
It becomes even more difficult hen you look at the reviews that the merchant has allowed on to its website:
We’re innately skeptical when someone says that they have lost an inordinate amount of weight simply from taking tablets.
If that’s the case, then we think it’s likely that their weight loss constitutes unhealthy weight loss, with a significant amount of muscle atrophy.
Learning anything from customer reviews is difficult, but checking them out can give you a rough idea on how the product is supposed to work.
Unlike a lot of the fat burners reviewed on this site, it seems that Sheer Thermo is aimed more at people who just want to lose “weight”, rather than athletes looking to lose fat and retain muscle. This is strange, because that is exactly what the manufacturers promise!
Sheer Thermo Fat Burner Side Effects
There are a number of ingredients in Sheer Thermo fat burner to be wary of when considering possible side effects.
Caffeine anhydrous is a potent form of caffeine. While we don’t think 200mg is unreasonable fr a fat burner, you should be made aware that this is the equivalent of about 5 or 6 cups of coffee.
If you are at all sensitive to caffeine, you should be very cautious when taking Sheer Thermo fat burner, or any product that contains even moderate amounts of caffeine anhydrous.
The main thing to be wary of here though is Hordenine.
We have discussed Hordenine at length above, but it’s worth restating here that, at high doses, this stuff is known to cause high blood pressure, an elevated heart rate, and rapid breathing.
Sheer Thermo Fat Burner Review Conclusion
If you’ve skipped right to the end of this review, the one thing you probably want answering is: “Should I Buy Sheer Thermo Fat Burner?”
Unfortunately, we can’t recommend this supplement to anyone who is serious about losing fat, particularly if they want to keep hold of some muscle as well.
For one thing, the good ingredients aren’t anything you won’t find in a good quality fat burner. In fact, the high-end supplements will typically provide slightly more caffeine anhydrous.
Importantly, top-end fat burners will also provide ingredients that have clinically verified, well-tested and well-understood fat loss supporting properties.
Sheer Thermo contains some ingredients that lack rigorous human testing. Their mechanism of action is unclear; at the time of writing, people still need to explain how Yohimbe boosts fat loss and provide evidence for that mechanism.
Finally, it also contains some “mental performance boosters that do not necessarily give us the boost we need in a fat burner.
All in all, Sheer Strength Labs Sheer Thermo fat burner is far from the most advanced fat burner on the market. If you are serious about killing fat and saving muscle, look elsewhere.
