Full Blast Off Review
Product Overview – What Is Blast Off?
Blast Off is an all-in-one thermogenic fat burner made and distributed by Nutritive Vitality. That’s what they say, anyway.
It’s quite difficult to find reliable information about who Nutritive Vitality are, what they are all about, and what other products they offer. We couldn’t find an official company website. All we could find was second-hand information on review sites and what little information you can find on the Amazon pages. As such, we won’t be talking very much about them as a company.
It seems that Blast Off is sold exclusively on Amazon (we assume, since we can’t find anywhere else selling it).
This sometimes tells us to be prepared for a low quality, scam supplement. When a manufacturer isn’t willing to invest in a distribution chain of their own (instead relying on others), then they clearly don’t think their product is long for the market. That isn’t a good sign.
But we can’t just assume every fat burner which is exclusive to Amazon or eBay is worthless. We need to look at them properly; our review of Nutritive Vitality’s Blast Off fat burner will be no different.
So, with that out of the way, what does Blast Off claim to do?
According to the manufacturers, Blast Off is able to:
- Skyrocket weight loss
- Prevent lean muscle breakdown
- Reduce food cravings
- Boost energy levels significantly
That all sounds great. If a supplement can really do all of those things, then we’ll have found without a doubt the best product on the market. So can Blast Off really do all of these things? There’s only one way to find out.
Let’s take a look at Nutritive Vitality Blast Off’s formula, how it really works, as well as what other people have been saying about it. We’ll also examine the Blast Off side effects. Finally, we’ll ask the big question: is this a good fat burner, or are there much better products out there?
Here’s our full Nutritive Vitality Blast Off review. If you have any suggestions or anything you’d like to add, please do so in the comments below.
Blast Off Formula – Failure To Launch!
With a name like Blast Off, one would expect this supplement to have a serious kick in terms of its ability to accelerate fat loss, not to mention energy levels, physical performance, and so on. Unfortunately, the formula is pretty disappointing on the whole.
Here’s a shot of the back of the bottle. If you do end up buying Blast Off, please check that your bottle’s label looks exactly like this:
As you can see, there aren’t too many ingredients in Blast Off, which is a good thing. There are also some absolutely essential fat burning substances in there.
A Green Coffee Bean Extract which has been standardized to be 50% chlorogenic acid is a superb addition to any natural fat loss aid.
Chlorogenic acid seems to reduce early insulin response following carb ingestion. This means that when you eat something like pasta, your insulin levels wont spike quite as high as they would do otherwise, meaning in turn that the body has less of a drive to store the incoming glucose as fat. Insulin regulation like this is an incredible tool in an athletes fat loss arsenal. It helps reduce body fat without harming muscle mass or training.
The extract in Blast Off gives us 20mg of chlorogenic acid; much more than we actually need to see an effect.
That, however, is really where our enthusiasm for this product ends.
You would be right to point out that we do also have Green Tea Extract in the formula. Green tea extract which has been standardized to guarantee us 45% of the polyphenol ECGC. This is a superb natural fat burner, shown in clinical trials to be capable of increasing fat oxidation in men and women. This effect was achieved by ECGC acting alone; no other compounds were used in the trial.
However, at just 150mg, the green tea in Blast Off isn’t really going to make a significant difference to your fat loss progress. Some of the leading fat burners reviewed on this site use 500mg of green tea extract, which is of a similarly high quality, high ECGC concentration as Blast Off. This is a fantastic ingredient and it is frustrating to see it so poorly dosed.
The rest of the formula is rather impotent in terms of boosting metabolism, reducing food cravings, or increasing energy levels; the things Nutritive Vitality promise that Blast Off can deliver.
For starters, the two forms of Carnitine add up to 300mg of Carnitine total. When supplementing with carnitine for athletic purposes, users will typically take at least 500mg per day. Some users will take 1g and upwards depending on their individual requirements. The 300mg in Blast Off seems quite paltry in comparison.
We also have Garcinia Cambogia, which to our knowledge has never been shown in actual clinical trials, using humans, to have serious fat burning properties.
Many people in the fitness industry firmly believe that Garcinia Cambogia is a miracle weight loss substance. Yet there is no agreement on how it works exactly.
The only convincing explanation put forward about how it might help you lose fat is that it increases satiety, or the feeling of being full and satisfied after a meal. This would indeed help with weight loss. However, we still haven’t seen any convincing evidence that this is the case, and even if it is, we need to see how effective it is compared to other substances which also increase the feeling of fullness.
Coleus Forskohlii, or Forskolin to you and me, is regularly touted as a natural weight loss aid.
Countless supplement manufacturers claim that it is able to melt the fat right off your belly, like the waving of a wand. However, the few studies that do exist point to it being much less impressive than that.
To our knowledge, there are only two studies which examine the effect of Forskolin on weight loss in humans.
This study, which concluded that “forskolin is a possible therapeutic agent for the management and treatment of obesity”, and this study, which found that “that CF does not appear to promote weight loss but may help mitigate weight gain in overweight females with apparently no clinically significant side effects”.
Not only are those two results contradictory, but the latter used coleus forskohlii, which is what we find in Blast Off (as opposed to Forskolin itself). That isn’t particularly encouraging.
The remaining ingredient, Maitake Mushroom, is not even usually associated with fat loss, or weight loss of any kind.
Maitake Mushroom is increasingly thought to help fight certain types of cancer. As far as our research can tell, that is all the experts currently think this fungus is able to offer.
What Are People Saying About Blast Off?
Here is a selection of “verified customer” reviews taken from Amazon.
We don’t put total faith in Amazon reviews, although the internet retailer has been cracking down on phony feedback. While you shouldn’t go by these reviews 100%, they do give you a little insight into how the product is supposed to work:
This last person has not been seeing some fat “burnt off” from their midsection. They have probably seen a reduction in overall body fat. Whether this is just down to the product or because said user has a very successful diet and training protocol, we can never know. Such are the limitations of layman reviews.
Nutritive Vitality Blast Off Review Conclusion
This is an incredibly disappointing supplement.
It contains two very good ingredients; green coffee bean extract and green tea extract. However, even of these two effective natural fat burners, the green tea is severely under-dosed.
The rest of the ingredients are fairly mediocre when it comes to genuinely helping you break through your plateaus, be it getting rid of stubborn body fat, making weight before a fight, or reaching a new low body fat PR just for the fun of it.
The likes of Garcinia cambogia have a lot written about them these days. Supplement manufacturers must spend a fortune on PR for this substance, because its coverage doesn’t seem to match up with its pedigree. We are yet to see a single clinical trial affirming Garcinia’s effectiveness in healthy, non-obese people.
The same goes for Coleus Forskohlii. In fact, one of the only studies looking at this exact substance found it to be ineffective.
If you’re looking for a reliable, powerful, and cost-effective supplement to really help you reach your goals, then we strongly advise you to check out some of our top rated fat burners. It seems unlikely that Blast Off is worth your money.
