Full Neogenix Velocity 3.0 Review – Does This Fat Burner Really Work?
Neogenix Velocity 3.0 is a fat burning supplement primarily designed for bodybuilders who need a little help shedding body fat after a long period of bulking.
Those of you who are familiar with Neogenix Performance Nutrition products already will realize that this is a revamping of Velocity 2.0, which was by all accounts a very popular fat burner.
You might think it’s obvious that Velocity 3.0 would be a reincarnation of an earlier product (the clue’s int he name right?), but that’s not necessarily the case. Lots of manufacturers put numbers and letters on the end of their products because they think it makes it sound more “scientific” or “advanced”.
Well, in this case the 3.0 is legit.
Velocity 3.0 is a much more ‘stripped down’ version of Velocity compared to 2.0.
It contains fewer ingredients, which is neither a fundamentally good or bad thing. More ingredients do not always mean a better supplement; in fact, lots of fat burners are ruined BY the amount of ingredients they try to cram in to a limited space.
But Neogenix Velocity 3.0 takes simplicity to the extreme, using just 4 ingredients in its formula.
According to Neogenix though, the minimalist formula doesn’t take away from the effectiveness of the product.
On the merchant page we are told that Neogenix Velocity 3.0 provides an “elegant solution to energy and fat loss”. Energy doesn’t require a solution; lack of energy does, but we get what they’re trying to say.
According to the manufacturer, Velocity 3.0 can do a number of really impressive things:
- Increase energy and focus
- Reduce appetite
- Increase metabolic rate
- Enhance mood
Much more impressive than this alone, Neogenix Velocity 3.0 claims to be able to deliver all of these things without “any jittery feeling or crash”.
Well, that would be awesome. But is it true?
Can Neogenix Velocity 3.0 really suppress appetite, boost energy, and raise metabolic rate without risking any side effects, and using just 4 ingredients?
There’s only one way to find out. Here’s our full Neogenix Velocity 3.0 review.
Neogenix Velocity 3.0 Formula Review
Doing a comprehensive Neogenix Velocity 3.0 review is made fairly easy by the fact that the stack simply doesn’t contain many ingredients.
What’s more, these ingredients are very common. In different combinations they are found in many fat burners on the market today.
Before we go any further, here’s a shot of the label as it would appear on a bottle of Velocity 3.0:
Let’s briefly go over each ingredient and talk about what it is supposed to do.
Thiamine Disulfide Butyrate is simply a fat-soluble form of regular thiamine, or Vitamin B1 to call it by its more recognizable name.
Vitamin B1 is absolutely essential to your bodily function. It is involved in the process of obtaining energy from food, so it certainly has a place in a supplement regimen of any athlete who is cutting back on food but who doesn’t want to compromise on performance.
For boxers, bodybuilders, and so on, making weight is obviously important, but it won’t do you any good if in order to make weight, your training has to suffer. This is what happens to many people, as they find that their energy levels plummet when they cut. Often, this is because they are no longer getting all of their micro-nutrients.
Ensuring that your daily intake of thiamine, and all B vitamins for that matter, is vital if you want to train at your very best when restricting calories.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine is another superb, natural fat burner.
It is known to help shuttle fats to your cell mitochondria, which you can think of as your cellular engine rooms.
ALCAR helps make the transport of fat to mitochondria more efficient. In theory, this makes it easier for your body to burn through your fat stores, increasing your rate of fat loss.
Carnitine in its various forms also has other properties that can help support athletic performance, not to mention overall good health.
Next we come to what is potentially the most important ingredient in Neogenix Velocity 3.0: caffeine anhydrous.
Caffeine anhydrous can be found in all of the best, professional-grade fat burners. It is an absolutely brilliant natural fat burner, despite not having any direct fat burning effects.
Caffeine anhydrous helps support weight loss and muscle maintenance by basically keeping you focused and energized throughout the day despite being in a fasted or dieted state.
This becomes even more crucial during training. While cutting, people usually experience a dip in performance, be it a loss of strength, a decrease in stamina, or a drop in motivation. When you stop hitting your sets and reps, you begin regressing, undoing all of the hard work you have done over the last few months.
Caffeine anhydrous helps prevent this, fueling you through workouts. It does this without conferring any extra calories of course; rather, it just makes you feel less tired than you actually are.
Finally, we have Yohimbine HCL.
Most people know this stuff as a common ingredient in natural testosterone boosters.
It is believed to help naturally raise free plasma testosterone levels. If it really does, then this would have a significant and direct impact on your ability to burn fat.
Testosterone governs lots of things in the body (male and female), and having higher testosterone levels is a reliable way to make your body burn more fat and start building more muscle.
However, we are yet to see any convincing evidence proving the claim that yohimbe extract boost testosterone.
Formula Review – Does Neogenix Velocity 3.0 Deliver?
Fat burners that opt to use fewer ingredients, like Velocity 3.0 for example, are usually much better than those supplements that try to make their product seem more “advanced” than the competition simply by filling the ingredient list with tens of exotic sounding extracts and compounds.
They are often better simply because they are able to opt for the handful of ingredients that they know actually deliver results, and they’re able to dose these ingredients higher.
Unfortunately, Neogenix Velocity 3.0 hasn’t opted for the most effective ingredients available.
While ALCAR and Thiamine certainly have benefits, they quite simply don’t have the teeth to really make a noticeable difference to your fat loss efforts. They are very much “supporting” ingredients, not heavy hitters.
ALCAR can and does help plenty of people lose stubborn belly fat. However, this is very rarely the case when taken in the amount found in Velocity 3.0.
Caffeine anhydrous is a brilliant fat burner, but again, it should really be accompanied by one or two ingredients that directly attack your fat stores, preferably via different routes.
The inclusion of Yohimbe as one of just four ingredients really was the last nail in the coffin for us.
If you are going down the ‘less is more’ route, then the few punches you throw have to be knockouts. Yohimbe is barely a jab.
Neogenix Velocity 3.0 Side Effects
There is little in Velocity 3.0 to make us worried about side effects.
However, you should be aware that two ingredients can cause some mild side effects if consumed in large amounts for a prolonged period of time.
These two ingredients are caffeine anhydrous and thiamine.
There is no upper limit set for B vitamin intake as far as we’re aware, but we have come across some people who have experienced strange sensations when taking lots of B vitamins in on serving. These have included tingling hands and feet, and an elevated heart rate.
Neogenix Velocity 3.0 contains 15,000% of your RDI of thiamine. This is also thiamine that has been altered to be more readily absorbed.
Please bare this in mind if you do decide to take Velocity 3.0. If you experience any side effects associated with B vitamin over-consumption, you should cease taking it completely and talk to your doctor.
Caffeine is also known to cause side effects in almost everyone if taken in large enough dosages for long enough periods of time.
While the amount in Velocity 3.0 is nothing unusual, but if you are sensitive to caffeine, or if you consume a lot of tea and coffee too, then you might experience some of the side effects associated with caffeine over-consumption: jitters, anxiety, insomnia, etc.
Neogenix Velocity 3.0 Review Conclusion
We were excited when we saw that Neogenix Velocity 3.0 was a stripped down, more minimalist version of Velocity 2.0.
As stated above, we firmly believe that stacks containing just a few ingredients can be just as good as those containing many; sometimes, they can be much, much better.
However, Velocity 3.0 really let us down.
The formula lacks the big hitter fat burners which you will need a lot of to make a formula with just 4 ingredients really make a difference to your cut.
