Full Glacier Nutrition Pure Fat Burner Review
Product Overview – What Is Pure Fat Burner?
Pure Fat Burner is a specialized fat loss supplement from Glacier Nutrition.
Glacier Nutrition aren’t particularly well know in the fitness world at the time of writing, but they make a wide range of bodybuilding and fitness supplements, and they seem to be a professional, upstanding manufacturer.
Whenever we see a fat burner that is made by a company that also makes a complete range of products, including protein shakes, pre-workouts, and so on, we always pretty sure we’re not looking at a scam product.
So, what about Pure Fat Burner? What does it do?
According to Glacier Nutrition, Pure Fat Burner can:
- Stimulate fat loss
- Increase energy
- Boost metabolism
- Reduce food cravings
That’s very impressive, but can the Glacier Nutrition’s Pure Fat Burner actually deliver?
Can it really reduce food cravings? What about metabolism? Is there anything better out there?

Ingredients – What’s In Glacier Nutrition Pure Fat Burner?
It’s only by looking at the actual ingredients and how they interact with one another that we can get a real idea of how well Pure Fat Burner will work.
Here is the Pure Fat Burner label, taken from the Glacier Nutrition website:
Yes, Glacier Nutrition’s Pure Fat Burner only displays many of its ingredients as part of a proprietary blend. There is no detailed dosage information available.
Is this a huge flaw?
Well, ultimately we have to say yes. We will always rate a fat burner lower if it lists a proprietary blend.
Proprietary blends usually mean that you can’t make a genuinely informed buying decision before parting with cash, and you can’t learn from your experiences with this supplement because you have no idea how much of certain ingredients you have been taking.
Maybe you think caffeine doesn’t do a lot for you after trying a supplement: how could you know? How much caffeine have you been taking? Proprietary blends usually withhold that information, and you the customer are worse off as a result.
However, Glacier Nutrition’s Pure Fat Burner is slightly different.
Rather than having one big proprietary blend, the “main ingredients” in Pure Fat Burner are listed individually, with dosage information, and other, ‘supporting’ ingredients are consigned to the blend.
While we would much rather that every individual ingredient was listed next to its dose size, this is better than a lot of supplements.
As we said above, the three ‘main ingredients’ in Pure Fat Burner are Raspberry Ketones, Green Tea Leaf Extract, and Caffeine Anhydrous.
Caffeine Anhydrous and Green Tea Extract are fantastic ingredients.
Caffeine anhydrous is simply caffeine without any water molecules attached, so it is basically a purer, more potent version of caffeine.
Caffeine helps us stay focused and energized throughout the day; a vital property for anyone eating below their caloric maintenance level.
It also keeps us motivated in the gym, letting us grind through tough sets even when our energy levels are depleted (i.e when dieting).
Green tea extract gives us a number of things, such as theanine (which reduces the side effects of caffeine), and antioxidants (which help keep us fit and healthy). More important than these however, is ECGC; a compound known to put the body into a supercharged fat burning state.
You can learn more about ECGC from our detailed and comprehensive fat burner guide.
It suffices to say here though that ECGC is one of the most well tested and effective fat burning compiunds out there. Green tea extract is therefore a must-have in any fat loss stack that wants to be taken seriously.
However, we’re a little less enthusiastic about the Raspberry Ketones.
Lots of people think this stuff is in some way related to the keto diet, which puts our body into ketosis; in layman’s terms, it means it starves your body of carbs and forces it to use fat as fuel.
However, this view is mistaken.
Rapberry ketones are compounds found in raspberries, blackberries, and kiwi fruits. Researchers believe that they may be able to increase lipolysis and boost metabolism because of their effect on a hormone called adiponectin.
This hormone is thought to contribute to fat loss because it is found in higher concentrations in people who are leaner, and concentrations have been observed to rise as people lose weight.
Some studies have found that this stuff has increased lipolysis in fat cells that have been isolated from mice.
However, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE SAME THING APPLIES TO LIVING, BREATHING HUMANS!
To our knowledge, how raspberry ketones work in humans is yet to be properly established by a controlled clinical trial.
That said, we are impressed by the amount of raspberry ketones that Glacier Nutrition have included in the Pure Fat Burner formula.
Most supplements contain far less, so if raspberry ketones really do help speed up lipolysis, then Glacier Nutrition is on to a winner here. But for us, that’s a big “if”.
What About The Other Ingredients?
The rest of the formula is interesting, but of course, as with most proprietary blends, we have to keep in mind the fact that we have no idea how each ingredient is dosed.
Most genuinely effective fat burners are very dose-sensitive. They work brilliantly at a certain dosage, but they can be useless or even counter-productive at another.
This is certainly the case with resveratrol; the incredibly potent anti-oxidant found in the Pure Fat Burner proprietary blend.
It may not be the case with the other ingredients however, as many of them have not been through a great deal of clinical testing, and so precise knowledge of how to dose them is thin on the ground.
We would assume that African Mango Seed commands the largest slice of the 600mg blend.
While we’re still skeptical, some people claim that this extract works much like glucomannan; thickening and expanding in your stomach so that you feel full all day despite not eating a great deal.
But that wouldn’t really leave enough room to include enough kelp powder, acai berry extract, or anything else for them to really make a difference to your fat loss program.
Of course, evidence that some of these ingredients actually work for most people is flimsy at best.
That said, we would still like to see a larger proprietary blend here if the manufacturers do believe that they will work.
Glacier Nutrition Pure Fat Burner Side Effects
We’re always a bit cautious when it comes to products that contain proprietary blends, and you should be too.
That said, the proprietary blend in Glacier Nutrition’s Pure Fat Burner seems to only contain natural ingredients that should be safe for the vast majority of people.
The 600mg serving size means that it’s highly unlikely you will take enough of any of the ingredients to have an adverse reaction.
As ever though, please do not just take our word for it. We don’t know you or your body; only you do!
Talk to a doctor before you start taking any new supplements, especially if they contain large amounts of stimulants like caffeine anhydrous!
Glacier Nutrition Pure Fat Burner Review Conclusion
If you have just skipped to the end of this review, then you’ll probably want us to answer a simple question for you: should I buy Pure Fat Burner?
Well, without a shadow of a doubt, there are much worse fat burners out there.
Unlike lots of products, Glacier Nutrition Pure Fat Burner does list its most important ingredients individually on the label, letting you know exactly how much of each you are paying for.
But it does use a proprietary blend. This proprietary blend contains ingredients that have not been put through multiple clinical trials, so we can’t be sure of their effectiveness at this time.
Nor can we be sure that they are present in dosages that would make them effective anyway.
Some ingredients, like African Mango Extract, are there because it is thought that it acts in a similar way to glucomannan. But then, we would much rather that they had used glucomannan and listed its serving size separately.
In our opinion, while you could do much, much worse than Glacier Nutrition’s Pure Fat Burner, you could also do a lot better.
